This was a tough day at the office on a cold & wet day in Pucon. It's a tough uphill slog for the first hour and a bit but if you can get through that it evens out. Despite there being no views due to it being heavily overcast, it was still a ice trek through nature. The way down... More

This place is magic, but it is not a Sunday stroll, the steep climb especially in the beginning is tough. After that part, a beautiful forest with huge Coihue trees appears, then a little while later the amazing Araucaria. The last climb is steep but I found it easier to manage than the beginning. On top you got awesome views... More

I had seen very beautiful pictures of the place. I didn t know there were taken at the very top. I left for a ride with the children, but it wasn t a ride at all. It is a difficult trek, specially at the beginning. We never succeded reaching the top because we arrived at noon. If you really want... More

We came here on a Saturday after taking a combination of both a bus and hitchhiking (you can normally take a bus straight to the entrance). The entrance to El Cañi reserve costs 4,000 pesos per person, but we somehow didn't pay as we came up through the dirt road next to the restaurant (we didn't see until our return... More

Tough first 3/4 hrs, but the final lookpoint had one of the best views I've ever seen in my entire life. Try to go on a clear day or when there are high clouds so you can see all the volcanoes. Very beautiful old forests along the way and the Sanctuary adm gives you a really nice map of the... More

This is a great hike up to a fantastic mirador. Highly recommended. To get there take a local bus from pucon towards caburgua and get off at the park entrance (ask the driver), it's 700 CLP each direction. The park entrance costs 4000 CLP, a little steep but the map is very well presented and the route is well maintained.... More

The view of four volcanoes! A 6-8 hour round-trip, so do take snacks and drinks along (water available at spots along the river up to the first lake). As someone who loves hiking, this has been a highlight. On a clear day one can see four volcanoes from the Mirador Melidekiñ view point. Well worth every minute of hiking. Pullman... More

We hiked Santuario El Cañi in the middle of June, the beginning of winter in Chile. The hike, the lagoons and the view point on top are beautiful! Because of low season we had the whole thing to our selves. We did it without a guide, which is fine if there aren't any snow to cover the trail and signs.... More
