It takes around 5-6 hours in total. The place is wonderful but the first part of the hike is not that pretty. Rough beginning but gets better after the refuge. I recommend camping at Laguna negra, close to the top. Lots of weird wildlife like...More

It’s required a good physical condition to enjoy this splendid track which conducts through a beautiful forest with lenga trees and aurucarias 40 meters tall. The final point consents a fantastic view. Better in a clear day but I made it in a (relatively) cloudy...More

It's not a national park, it is a sactuary and that makes a different trip than Huerquehue. It's shorter but steeper and the initial trial is very hard, imposible if raining. Watch out. But if you manage to survive the first part of it, then...More

Hold on until the top: the view is breathtaking! You can go there in bus. P.S: if you have walking sticks, take them with you, you will need them!

Took a bus from downtown for 700 CLP one-way (USD$1) that drops you off right at the start of the path. There is a station there with maps where you pay the entrance fee of 4000 CLP (USD$6). The hike wasn't that tough and was...More

This was a tough day at the office on a cold & wet day in Pucon. It's a tough uphill slog for the first hour and a bit but if you can get through that it evens out. Despite there being no views due to...More

This place is magic, but it is not a Sunday stroll, the steep climb especially in the beginning is tough. After that part, a beautiful forest with huge Coihue trees appears, then a little while later the amazing Araucaria. The last climb is steep but...More
