This well maintained historical German family farm is a great way to showcase the European influence on this area of Chile. It is well maintained with many antique artifacts that your do not typically get to see up close and in their natural setting. The...More

This museum complex was probably the highlight of our tour. Expansive, beautiful buildings and well maintained gardens, artefacts relative to each building, the babbling stream, glorious flowers and the holly tree burdened with clusters of red berries. Some steep paths to climb, (depends on age...More

German immigrants had a large, positive impact on this part of Chile. The museum gives a person an opportunity to walk through two "typical" homes for the period, see equipment, furniture, and personal artifacts from the period. We really enjoyed our time here.

Gives you a great sense of early settler life in this small town on the shores of the same lake on which Puerto Varas is located.

A look at some of the history of the German immigrants to this area in one place. A number of nice buildings with some exhibits set in very nice gardens. Most of the signs have English translations.

Basically this place explains the history of the German immigrants who were attracted to the region by the Chilean government's offer of free land. Really, it was a way to clear out the natives. Aside from one photograph and short narrative in the mill, the...More

The museum consists of a few small buildings, the main one of which is a reproduction of a German settler home. The museum itself is nothing spectacular, but the grounds were lovely, and there was plenty of time with our tour to then walk through...More
