    Midnight scooby snacks
Went up just before midnight one night and still serving. It’s a myriad of stalls and you sort of have too much choice! Just decide, order, and take a seat in the communal areas. We got a buzzer to go back and collect when ready, and food was great authentic and cheap. Many locals eating there and great value for money.

    Al Fresco Dining Singapore Style
Great vibes at Satay Street. Had nice satay al fresco Singapore style! Take care to choose the best Satay stalls or vendors as the quality of satays do vary. Later, you could walk a few steps into the beautiful, Victorian style Lau Pa Sat or Old.Market for ice cream or dessert.

Satay Street low key vibe.. do it
Great low key atmosphere. Get in and get a table and try all the foods whilst having a beer. We tried Satay 7 & 8, the one that everyone reviews about. It was good. The line is long, but it’s efficient. We waited 40mins for it (we were warned prior). However we also tried satay 6 for comparison, and I have to say that we both agreed we preferred 6’s offerings more. We had chicken and prawn at both. Beef from 7&8 too (which we really liked). But the prawns were more tender and juicier, and overall better char on both meats from 6. They also had a nice spicy chilli dip in addition to the satay sauce.

    good grilled meat everywhere
Unlike many popular hawker centers, Satay Street does not prohibit touting. Staff from each stall will descend upon you soon as you enter their domain. Personally I don't think there can be much difference in quality or taste when every stall is making the same thing. We chose #6 and they helped us find a table. I think the stalls reserve seating themselves so if you move tissues or umbrellas on a table you will get scolded by staff or citizens or both. If you have a peanut allergy this is not for you. There is peanut sauce all over the food, tables, street...just stay away. Satay away? Go early or late for shortest lines. Get beer from stalls inside the hawker center. Bring your own napkins and/or wet naps.

Busy speciality satay area adjoining Lau Pa Sat
Bustling place adjoining Lau Pa Sat to enjoy satay of every type you can imagine. You'll be hassled to sit at the trestle tables of one of the many concessions. Service can take a while if it's busy and the air is thick with smoke from the many barbecues in this bustling lively atmosphere.

Very busy area and many satay stalls to choose from - great satays with good values
The many satay stalls are on the exterior of Lau Pa Sat hawker center near Marina Bay and central area. Lots of people when the stalls opened around 7 pm. Each stall has representatives with menus and prices, we follow the simple rule of "pick a place with a queue, all those people can't be wrong". Also figured the turn over would make the ingredients fresher/better. Stall #8 did not disappoint! We ordered then watched the guy on the grills hop to get the satays cooked. We were given a buzzer, ended up waiting quite a while before receiving our satays. We got chicken and beef, both were wonderful. Especially loved the peanut sauce. We picked a table away from the masses, did not particularly liked the cramped satay tables set up near by. Overall, a great way to enjoy some cheap eats and local satays. Checked off that Singapore experience.

Nice evening place for informal dinner at very reasonable prices
Satay St was literally five minutes from our hotel and we stumbled on it by chance . A row of stalls selling the delicate skewered meats .. The road actually is attached to a brilliant Asian hawker centre so every conceivable dish is available to you . Lots and lots of outdoor seating and a great vibe here too . Shared by tourists and locals alike. If you’re in this area it’s a must visit ! Recommended..

Be quick to grab a table
I would say this is a must visit when in Singapore. The street gets closed and then the guys start putting out tables and chairs. Be quick for they are soon taken! We had already ordered and so just waited for the food to arrive. I loved the atmosphere.

    Love satays!
The best place on the planet, IMHO, to eat satays. The place is crowded yet buzzing, the smoke from the grills and the aroma of freshly cooking satays permeate the air, it's an experience and those satays and the peanut sauce - Lord have mercy! A must whenever I am in Singapore.

Had to see to believe satay sticks by the hundreds
Another must visit for the buzz and sheer scale of satay production street food. Inside many other Asian food choices to grab and find a seat but outside is the large scale satay food. Options to buy from 30 to a 100 chicken or beef sticks with amazing sauce plus prawns and octopus bbq. A bit pricey but for $70 we had enough for 5 people, 40 meat sticks, 10 prawn and 4 octopus. Also had 4 of the weirdest rice cakes in my life. Don’t forget to bring a ton of wet wipes and tissues as very messy. All drinks sold from beer to soft at different stalls but all good value

We were really excited to eat here on our first night in Singapore but were actually quite disappointed.
At 7 pm this street is closed to traffic and tables and chairs are set up but this turned into an unruly scrum with people grabbing seats and tables and we really didn’t like the atmosphere thus generated.
We saw the queue for Satay stall 7 & 8 so thought if there is a big queue it must be good. After waiting about ten mins we placed our order and were given an order slip and told to come back in 20 mins when we would only have to “wait five mins” to collect our orde We went back after 25 mins and were told to join a huge queue of 35 people waiting for the orders they had already placed. Nearly an HOUR later we finally get to the front of the queue and receive our order. Still no tables on the street but we found one in the food centre. The Satay was OK but nothing special. But what was really bad was the total waiting time of an hour and a quarter from placing to receiving our order - if you can’t handle the number of orders then DON’T keep taking new orders and telling people they’ll only have to wait five mins when they come back to collect their order because you are LYING.
Come to Satay Street to have a look and take some pictures but don’t bother to eat here unless you like being lied to and queuing for at least an hour.
However, the food centre next to Satay st looked really good.

Great satay, and priced reasonably. You will be pushed by a number of stall holders to by from them but they’re all selling the same thing, some are more polite than others so I tended towards them.

The skewers are small, our family of four, including a teenage boy ate 100, this consisted of 10 prawn (devine!!!), 45 chicken and 45 beef. We also purchased some Bok Choy from another vendor, this was delicious.

We were in Singapore nearly 30yrs ago and went to the Satay Solo Club, this is no longer there and it appears this (Satay Club) has replaced it.

Enjoy!

Great atmosphere and for a first time Singapore visit it was fun! Sitting outside, soaking up the hustle & bustle of the street vendors with their smoking satay bbq's was an enjoyable experience. We had a mixed set of skewers (beef/mutton, chicken & prawn + rice cakes) Service was fast and efficient. (make sure you bring your own serviettes/wipes as there are no complimentary ones and hawkers go table to table selling small packs). Be prepared for vendors to be actively approaching you for business.

The whole family loved Satay Street! We came back here for many dinners during our time in Singapore. We went to stalls 7&8 which have the best reputation and also tried some other stalls which we enjoyed just as much.

The entire food complex behind Satay St has lots to offer with quality food at an affordable price.

Great Satay Sticks! We were staying nearby and walked down to this street. They kept the beers coming and we enjoyed a mix of satays. 7 & 8 were the busiest, but all were keen to serve. I didn’t like having dirty old menus shoved at me from all directions however kinda felt sorry for the quiet stalls once I settled into the atmosphere.
