About
The Formula One Singapore Grand Prix was the inaugural F1 night race back in 2008, and has since been an annual event that car enthusiasts from all over the world look forward to watching in the month of September. Other than watching the racing drivers flaunt the latest technology on the tracks, another highlight of the night race is the illuminated Singapore skyline, which photography fanatics will not want to miss.

    Grand prix walking
A good event with a great atmosphere. Lots of walking distance involved, probably more than some of the cars managed. Plenty of food and drink available but no ice cream !! Surely an opportunity here for someone.

    Three Fabulous Days
The Singapore GP is a combination of a Music Festival, Food Festival and Motor Experience culminating in Sundays Race. Very well organised- helpful and plentiful security & cleaning staff. Not overcrowded. A full list of musical entertainment for all tastes. Additional Car races and the opportunity to walk on the track if you have the correct tickets. Organise seats in different areas for each evening. We sat at the Pit Lane Padang Grandstand & Stamford Grandstand. This was a fabulous experience with my son & would highly recommended it.

    Absolutely Amazing Experience
We had an absolutely amazing time at the Singapore F1, we booked tickets directly with F1, and although they were issued quite late, they were completely painless to download and add to the Singapore F1 app. We managed to get a hotel which was very close indeed, which was more by luck that judgment, and it was a fantastic and reasonably priced hotel... The Peninsula. The track itself opened around 2pm each day, and after being there that early on the Friday, we decided to get there later on each of the Saturday and Sunday mainly so we could make use of air conditioning as it was so so hot and humid. The facilities at the track were great, a great selection of food, although to be honest, not a lot for vegetarians apart from fries and plain pasta, but it was the same wherever you went in Singapore, I don't think they are into the veggie thing yet. We had a Padang combination ticket, we absolutely loved the Stamford and Padang grandstands, the Pitt grandstand not so much.. not least because it involved miles of walking on uneven ground and up and down stairs over bridges... and to be honest, you didn't see a lot either. We ended up watching qualifying on a big screen. The weather was very kind to us, but as I say, very hot indeed. All the surrounding areas were very accommodating and welcoming to the F1 fans, there wasn't any trouble at all, and we loved the fact that we could visit so many hotels to check out the different teams' cars, etc. We saw Culture Club, Groove Armada and Robbie Williams, all of whom were amazing! I would certainly recommend every F1 fan tries it at least once!

Last year, I had the opportunity to be invited to the hospitality lounge at Paddock Club. I experienced the most luxurious aspect of Formula 1 with exquisite gourmet food bites and premium beverages in air-conditioned comfort while enjoying the view of the F1 cars whizzing past beneath my feet with loud revving engines from the balcony of the VIP lounge. I also had exclusive Pit Lane Walk with a close-up view of the F1 cars, garages and crew. Beside the lounge and the Pit Lane Walk, I did not wander further.

This year, I do not have the VIP luck but was happy to experience the `touristy' atmosphere at the F1 village, the Grandstands and at the riverside. The tropical sunset riverside view at the Coconut Grove was gorgeous. Spectators relaxing in front of the wide screen enjoying their beer and watching the Grand Prix. Some chose to have picnic by the riverside. Further down at the Wharves, there was stage band performance and huge crowd gathered below the stage enjoying the wonderful music and songs. At the Market Street, there was long queue for the sumptuous food. The price may be a little on the high side, but the foods look delicious and appealing. It was a partying mood at every spot in the village.

At the various grandstands, many were seated experiencing the thrill of the F1 cars zooming past them in deafening engine noise and lightning speed. I hardly could capture the photos of the speeding cars with my phone camera. I wandered past the garage and saw the colorful and gorgeous Posche F1 cars undergoing repair or maintenance. You really feel the tempo of what F1 Grand Prix is all about when you walk around. Now, I know why F1 event is important in promoting tourism for Singapore.

Kudos to the Police and security agencies who work relentlessly round the clock to ensure the smooth running of the event.

Best views on tv. Live is nice to hear the sound, but the crowds is daunting and the heat is excrutiating.

This time I bought Bay Grandstand ticket which the seat was too far away to see the race. Everytime the racing car passed by then the viewers in front standing so that I couldn't see anything. The race was delayed for 1 hour due to heavy rain and flood on the Bay Grandstand. I couldn't leave my seat because of the flood and might be slippery also as I had too much baggage like camera n lens. The view was stunning of Singapore skyline but not recommended if you wanna see the race closer. It's better to buy Premier Walkabout or Pit Grandstand.

It was an exciting race due to conditions but really the track is crap. Had a multi seat grandstand so each day I had a different stand / seat which I thought was great. Thing is beer was 15 bucks and food was very expensive on site. Even when you were in the MRT station by the track you would be hard to know there was a Grand Prix happening, few signs ,flags or anything to see to let you know a world sporting event was happening outside. Also on some of the inside stands the crowds get funnelled through some very tight spots where one even had a knee high pole in the middle which was only visible one you walked into due to the crush. All in all I suppose they have to make do with what they’ve got but lessons could be learnt from other circuits. I would still recommend it and go again as I love Singapore.

This has to be the best place to watch a Grand Prix. Right in the City with super efficient transport systems..a night race which gives you all day to explore the City.
Great drama, well organised..something for the bucket list
Such friendly people. I will be back

Overall good weekend.
Staff and volunteers were super helpful and polite
The Singapore GP App was excellent for schedules and info

BUT...
Food and Drink services need a major overhaul, one hour wait for an inedible Pizza!
Main entertainment sector turned into a Cow Poo quagmire after rain, which is almost guaranteed in Singapore.

Eat/Drink before you go

The race was good. The event lacks needs support categories, what they had was fine but they need more racing. The entertainment was patchy - some really great bands, but some were sub standard. On the facilities - bathrooms were a mess, not cleaned, overflowing just awful. The food and beverage stands are not up to standard, very average food, nothing remotely healthy, time to serve was appalling at food and bar outlets and technology for electronic payments was
Appallingly slow. Also given the heat and rain at this event some more shaded areas would be a plus. Let’s hope it improves next year.
