Singapore Pinacothèque de Paris marks the first expansion outside Europe of the renowned Pinacothèque de Paris, heralding a pioneering international private museum in a thriving arts and lifestyle hub. Located in the rejuvenated Fort Canning Arts Centre, a heritage building set atop Singapore's historic and cultural landmark, Fort Canning Park, Singapore Pinacothèque takes centre stage with its distinctive expertise in international fine art, and offers a unique voice on history and culture in the region's visual arts landscape. 'Pinacothèque' translates as 'box of paintings' and refers to a place where paintings (or any image) are kept in which private collector pieces were displayed for public appreciation. We aim to stimulate your sense of curiosity and wonder through uniquely curated exhibitions, and by combining storytelling with state-of-the-art technology to create an experience that is immersive, interactive, engaging and fun. The museum's three main galleries feature a permanent collection of masterpieces, twice-yearly rotating blockbuster exhibitions, and a collection of artefacts that traces the legacy of Southeast Asia and Singapore. Delivering a fresh perspective on art, the exhibitions are curated with founder Marc Restellini's signature 'Transversality' credo that presents a dialogue between different works of art, connecting both artists and audiences alike through emotional and thematic links that cut across boundaries of genre, culture and era. The Singapore Pinacothèque de Paris Art Academy, La Boutique Pinacothèque museum shop and a unique variety of international retail and dining concepts also converge at Fort Canning Arts Centre to create a vibrant community of art appreciation, education and lifestyle for everyone.

This museum closed its doors (as reported by the media) permanently in April 2016. It is a lovely building which rests on the top of Fort Canning. I sincerely hope that the building gets repurposed for something else soon.

This place is now permanently closed. Bu if you're in the area it's still worthwhile to have a walk around Fort Canning. Good views over the city and a nice park to explore.

S$24 MILLION spent with significant government assistance (Taxpayer's $$$) & it comes to this. Plenty of questions BUT no answers after such a short tenure & CLOSURE with ongoing Legal Issues over UNPAID Suppliers & Bills. Is anyone accountable? Sad.

This place is closed. Most unfortunately, due to legal issues with the company who brought the art in. I visited during the 2015 Singapore Night Festival and I kick myself for not going back. This was an interesting collection with a mixture of Southeast Asian...More

Set amongst the gardens this lovely building holds a wonderful collection based on a philosophy of collecting unlike most museums. Not cheap entrance fee especially noting the size of the collection but it did have good breadth from ancient to American 80's.

Two galleries were open when we went. The gallery showing the history of Singapore and its objects was small, but extremely exhaustive and well-displayed. The second gallery with artworks by Modigliani, etc. was also very nicely done with ample viewing space. As a museum professional...More

As someone who has no background in art or art history, I personally tend to avoid art museums/galleries However, I couldn't pass up on Singapore's newest addition to the museum scene so I decided to give it a try. Most museums in Singapore are free...More

We went to view the widely advertised "rare collection" of masterpieces by Picasso, Rembrandt, Monet & Modigliani, and were able to see just about one piece of each, and they were definitely rare (not famous pieces). The rare collection was tiny. We've been to other...More

From what I gather thing place is really new. Okay, I haven't been to the one in Paris but from what I gather it is basically a private art collection that has been opened to the public. When I was here they had a Cleopatra...More
