My 4-star rate is due to the (for me) unbearable noise when the restaurant is populated (one cannot hear the voice of the person in front). But having said that, the food experience is truly unique and worth a visit. The rock’n’roll rolls are just amazing and came out of a genius. The location is very convenient and the view on marina bay worth it although it is on the second floor.

Good location and view of mbs, but disappointed in the food and service. The tuna sashimi was too warm and tasted fishy. The cold beef tataki was the best savoury dish we had, but not amazing. The other dishes, including cooked mains, were okay, but we would not order them again. The milk crepe dessert was probably the best item of the night. The cocktails were small and lacked flavor and tasted like mocktails. The servers were polite, but service was slow. Nothing justified paying almost S$200 for a small dinner for two.

After a long absence from dining at Kinki, we gave it a try when our family visited from HK. While the food was ok, the overall experience was quite underwhelming. The pace of the food was poorly organized. Courses came without any flow or sequence, making the enjoyment of the dishes we had selected difficult. The execution of the dishes was also a bit clunky - e.g. the tuna tartare tortilla! We chose Kinki for the opportunity to have a drink around Customs House and let our HK visitors enjoy the view, but regretted opting out of Ryo Sushi or Akira Back that evening after the meal... Was a shame, because we had good memories of Kinki in days past.
