Cruising since 1987. For more than a decade and a half, bumboats have been plying the Singapore River. The story of Singapore River Cruise begins in 1987. The "Clean Rivers Campaign" of 1983 saw the relocation of bumboats to Pasir Panjang. The familiar painted faces of our Bumboats were due to disappear from its home, until SRC was awarded the tender license to run river services here - the first also, to operate such services along the river. We are entering a new chapter in the Singapore River story. In this modern age, Bumboats on this historic waterway remind us of its rustic charm. SRC has been preserving the heritage of this important river for more than two decades. Its bumboats have become the icon of our river to visitors and locals alike. 2008 was a year when our iconic bumboats underwent a transformation. The diesel-powered engines of SRC's fleet made way for a new generation of electric ones that boast quieter engines and zero CO2 emissions. These are the very boats that operate along the Singapore River today. SRC is committed to greater excellence. Under its strong management, the company has developed a firm network of channel intermediaries from government agencies, embassies, event organizers and other operators in the tourism sector, both local and overseas. From a humble fleet of 4 bumboats in 1987, SRC has since increased its number to 24 today with a few new additions coming onboard soon.

As part of tour around Singapore, we took a boat cruise up the river. This is a very pleasant experience with nice views of the city skyline and the Merlion, and we were also very fortunate with the weather, which threatened rain that did not...More

I prefer to take this cruise at night. It's cooler and you'll be enchanted by the lights and the city skyline. Try to choose the timing to view the Water and Light show in front of Marina Bay Sands. Your video cam will be put...More

We boarded this river boat as part of our Singapore Air Explorer Pass. The unmissable little wooden boats looked like a swarm of green red and yellow reggae fans as they waited in position around Clarke Quay. We sat outside to beat the heat so...More

Best time to take Cruise is at Night. With the light effect, makes the Bridges and Beautiful towering Buildings looks magnificent. Post Boat Ride , it is worthwhile to enjoy dinner by Riverside. Its a perfect outdoor place for a beautiful evening.

Recently visited Singapore and tried out the Singapore River cruise. It was really good - I paid $55 for 1 adult and 2 children. It was a Saturday night and we were very fortunate that fireworks were set off that very night. The kids loved...More

We took a 40 minute night cruise from Clarke Quay on the electric ferry to see the lights and views. Very quiet boat and not too many people, so good opportunity to take photo's. Recommended.

We decided to go on the 40 minutes SD$25 each (equivalent £14) bumboat cruise as we thought it a good way to see the city away from the traffic. We bought tickets from the office close to the Merlion and opted for a round trip....More
