When you see the growth of the city with its high rise and shopping malls, not sure how Raffles would react or how many tourists would understand his significance. Whilst not an amazing structure, I did appreciate the significance and the site of its placement

This statue indicates where Raffles first landed in Sinagpore. It is located along the Singapore river and has great views of the city skyline. You can take a nice stroll along this stretch. Opposite is Boat Quay with many quaint restaurants.

The Statue of Sir Raffles is located along the waterfront of the river. The area around is a nice place to walk and has some good open air places to have a bite and a drink. Good for taking photographs.
