- ScribblingGeekSingapore523 contributionsFun Attraction for Kids and Adults AlikeFun and educational attraction in Singapore where you can easily spend 2-3 hours, or more. The displays are orientated toward children but adults will still enjoy them for they are usually humourous and with important scientific facts woven into. Highly recommended would be the Phobia Gallery, the Mirror Maze, and the Know Your Poo gallery.Visited May 2024Travelled soloWritten 7 May 2024
- Ru C3 contributionsA day of infotainmentThis visit brought back so many memories to where I had last visited it as a kid! My two kids were first unsure how it would turn out to be, they started complaining that it was too childish for them (aged 12 and 15) and gradually as they kept discovering all these creative and educational exhibits with a fun twist to them, they were in awe and didn't want to leave! However we also visited the Omni theatre and that was a huge disappointment. Not worth the money. The technology is in place but the movie options were hopeless - not at all entertainment in any kind.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 4 June 2024
- Ri Ri SpringbettAdelaide, Australia292 contributionsWorth Every $$$$ Spent!!We just finished 3 hours at the Science Centre, and we absolutely could have spent another hour as we didn’t even get through it all! Opens at 10am, so I say get there for opening to have the whole day. They have a huge restaurant on site, I cannot comment on food as we didn’t eat while there. Worth every $$$ spent, this place is HUGE and so much fun, for kids and adults alike. Me & my hubs and had as much fun, if not more than our 11 year old. So much more to do that I expected, it exceeded all my expectations. Take your time to walk through, watch the shows, and try everything! Our favourite was the lightening show at 12pm, the scary spooky house and the mirror maze. They do have a water play section, so I recommend to pack bathers for the kids if they want to get wet after. Upon exit is a huge shop with lots of science kits and science goodies if you want to continue the science fun at home.Visited September 2024Travelled with familyWritten 7 September 2024

It was exciting to watch the fire tornado, and we loved the revamped optical illusions. But some new exhibits relied heavily on reading notices, rather than showing us science in action. A few areas are looking a bit old, and would benefit from a revamp.
Buy tickets online, they had problems when we tried to pay at the door.
Coffee Bee was very disappointing, food just didn’t have much flavour.
Disabled access is excellent, and as always in Singapore toilets were very clean.
If you can’t use escalators, access to the lift at Jurong East station is a mess during improvements (which will take some months), quite a long walk and signing is not clear. It might be wise to find an alternative route.
Do visit the Butterflies up close – the additional charge is well worth it. They have lots of different species of butterflies, and some very informative information about them.
An enjoyable day, but they do need to keep on making sure it’s exciting to visit.

I called the Singapore Science Centre's Customer Service Number to confirm the prices for my Family (Dependent and Employment Pass Holders).
The lady that answered the phone must of been upset / angry that she was required to work on New Year's Eve as she was incredibly unfriendly.
This place does not recognise EP, S-Pass or Dependant Pass Holder's meaning we are required to pay "tourist" prices. Perhaps the only attraction in Singapore that does this.
Avoid if you are a EP, S-Pass or Dependant Pass Holder.

Last time I visited this place in my childhood. That time there was lots of interesting things. Still can remember that dummy Einstein was giving lectures.. There was one real chopper can rotate the rare fan. Full flight experience of Singapore Airlines. Now a days they have improved, its true. Lots of things can be enjoyed. Finally it's a nice place to learn with enjoyment.

This attraction is geared more towards kids and teens, but there is also enough to keep adults entertained. Learning never stops. Strongly recommend the Laser Maze (separate ticket required), Mirror Maze and Phobia exhibits.

We always enjoy a trip to the science centre. Unfortunately they have removed the option to buy tickets in person and you are required to buy online with a credit card. I hate arriving somewhere with excitement then spending the first 5 minutes looking at my phone. Also, you are required to share your phone number, email and nationality when you purchase tickets.

Touted as one of the best Science Centre in the world and I believe so after this visit. Some of the exhibits are from my younger days and it brought much memories of yesteryears. The new exhibits are engaging and good fun to play with. If it is enjoyable for adult, it is definitely good enough for the kids. We've got a package which includes Omnitheatre as well. Due to COVID-19, time was restricted to 3 hours only. There was a section on evolution of butterflies, which was pretty interesting. Some of the things had to be rushed through, but we did what we could. Wish the time is slightly longer though.

A wonderful, interactive centre with interesting child friendly, hands on displays. Different rooms permitted the children to learn and experience life under the sea, in space and understand phobias (whilst getting a little scared in a room of 'scares').
Our children particularly enjoyed the butterfly room, where numerous butterflies fly around and interact with the beautiful horticulture.
Our visit was during the week and it was very quiet, this also meant the advertised showd were not available. Sadly, due to the rain the children were unable to use the fantastic wet play area, but were we to return, we'd make this a priority. Highly recommend.

The rules pertaining to Butterflies Up Close need to be clear and consistent. While we are aware we are not to touch the butterflies, the staff manning the enclosure told our 7-year old that while she may not hold the butterflies by the wings, she is allowed to let the butterflies land or climb onto her hand.
Subsequently, she was chided for doing this “too many times” without explaining how many is too many and why the change in rules.
This is not acceptable to me and confusing to a child this age. Perhaps the Science Centre can clarify this.

If you buy tickets to the Science Centre, does it also include access to Kidspot? And vice-versa if you buy tickets to Kidspot, do you get access to the Science Centre?

Is the Singapore science centre anything like the Canberra “Questacon”?
Written 12 November 2018
Hi Piper, yes it is a lot like Questacon. We went there earlier in the year for the first time and were amazed at how big the centre is. It has something for all ages, our biys (3 and 1 at the time) loved it. Take a towel and swimmers as there is an amazing outdoor water park. Also be prepared as it gets very busy with school groups.
Well worth a visit, and the train ride out is always a hit for kids :)
Short walk from the Jurong East station.
Have fun and if you are a member of any of the ASTC (Australian Science Centres) ie Questacon you wil get reciprocal free admission
Our boys also loved Gardens by the Bay and Fort Canning
Have a great time in Singapore

Is it worth visiting if you are an adult and traveling alone?
Written 17 March 2018
You must but you should have at least 4-5 hours to justify the visit. Being lone traveller it makes all the more sense to go on your own pace condition is that you should have liking for miracles of science.

Are we allowed to go out to dine at the McD at the entrance and return to the centre after lunch?
Written 4 July 2017
Yes, you can get in / get out several times (e.g. Mc.D, Omni Theatre, Snow City, Kidstop). The centre will give you a mark on your hand/arm.
