- SSHyderabad, India125 contributionsAll the colours in one place !!It’s this small street that is just so full of colour and life. Small restaurants thriving next to each other. Take a walk down the lane and decide where you would like to perch for the afternoon There are some good food options at the Arab lane as well. The street art is enchanting and should you want a decent picture, we’ll stand in lineVisited December 2023Travelled soloWritten 12 December 2023
- DavidjellisLowestoft, United Kingdom9,498 contributionsVery interesting place to check out quirky shops, restaurants and amazing wall artWe visited Haji Lane and the Arab Street area of Singapore as part of a cruise ship excursion. We had around an hour in this part of the city to check out the quirky cafes and restaurants and the amazing wall art in this Instagram-popular location. We couldn't soak up much of the atmosphere this part of town is famous for as we visited in the morning before most places had opened, but the impressive wall art and beautiful Sultan Mosque made it well worthy of the stop.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 January 2024

- SahilChrunguNew Delhi, India1,926 contributionsArtistic place for Modern Art loversHaji Lane has some of the city's best boutique shopping down one of the narrowest streets in Singapore. The laneway is lined with boutiques, cafés, tattoo parlors, yoga studios, and old-school Egyptian restaurants. Funky street art murals bring out the Instagram set, but remember to point your camera up, too: the vintage shutters on the two-story storefronts are painted in bright, cheerful colors.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 3 September 2024
- LynsD2011Melbourne, Australia22 contributionsWorth the tripInteresting stop on our self paced tour of some of Singapore’s districts. A lot of Instagram posing happening, but the streets are very cute. We ate here and the food was really good. Definetly worth a visit and a nice chain to the super touristy sites everyone knows about in Singapore.Visited September 2024Travelled with familyWritten 24 September 2024

This street is currently trending as more and more people come here to take photos. Originally a place to find Middle Eastern restaurant especially the cheap ones, the murals here is the main reason people come here. We had our small street breakfast here, cheap and delicious Malaysian dish.

Haji Lane was a small narrow and truly a lane full of unique shops, restaurants, bars and street art. We loved the Elephants on Parade shop with uniquely designed artistic elephants. Some of the profits help the elephant population. For very creative cocktails, make a reservation at Bar Stories. Be prepared for expensive cocktails but you will also have a memorable experience!

Haji Lane , adjacent Arab Street and Sultan Mosque. A must do! You can spend hours just walking and window shop in Kampong Glam area. Hungry? Go to Ratu Lemper and pick up some chicken or spicy chicken Lemper (savory meat between sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves) or visit Kampong Glam Cafe for some Mee Siam. This is a nice cafe on the corner of Bussorah St and Baghdad St. Now to walk off all this delicious food stroll over to the Sultan Mosque and move window shopping. Prices in stores are negotiable 😬

Not sure if Singapore has other trendy, funky, fashionable, boutique neighbourhoods like this where you can express yourself artistically but Haji Lane is definitely a hipster's paradise. The name however of this tiny street doesn't match at all with what it is offering. It's named after a religious pilgrimage, it's under the shadow of a mosque and located in a Muslim/quarter but represents something totally different.
You have to be a millennial or at least have a millennial mindset to really ''dig it" because the clothes/accessories designed and sold here can only attract to the fashion forwards, rock star, indie, chic types (unless you're ahead of your times regardless of your age) but the graffiti/street art (previously known as vandalism) does brighten up the place. Throw in couple of tattoo parlours, body piercing shops and leather clad bikers and the package is complete.

Haji Lane is the narrowest street in Singapore. It is an interesting street with a good mix of shops and cafes. The shophouses here are of the "Early Shophouse" style. As each shop is creatively decorated in its own unique style, it provides a visual treat just by strolling along this street. There are also colourful murals along this street as well as the alley between Haji land and Bali Lane.
No tour of kampong Glam is complete without a walk along this vibrant and quirky street. A delightful street even for a local like me.

Nowadays It is not fun at all duo to cutting the music off! But before the covid19 it was always fun and outgoing! Of course, it depends on what are you looking for.
This place contains a lot of pubs and bars with live music usually! Hidden Jem is covered with graffiti paintings and a lot of good vibes at night!
If you like photography or chilling with friends or just want to get a drink or two then you will like it!
It is a lot of happy hours around the place usually till 7-00 - 8-00 pm.
Give it a try!

I was there early in the morning so there were not many people. All stores and restaurants were closed so it was kind of quiet there. The lane was unique and colorful with graffiti paintings on every wall there. On second floor, windows were colorful also which made the lane really stand out. Honestly, all neighborhood around was colorful also. When I was there, I found a huge cat enjoying a sunny day which was really cute. I also found out that cats, dogs and wild animals can live freely all over Singapore

A very touristy place. Shops, bars are all over the lane. Very noticeable interesting artwork/graffiti on the walls and hanging decorations which are probably the attractions. Small structures with colorful paints. They should not allow cars to go in the lane, very narrow and should be for foot traffic only.

If you have some time, wandering around Haji Lane is definitely worth it. There are brightly painted murals on the buildings, wonderful displays in windows and really interesting shopping venues and bar. We were there during the day, so the crowds were managable…but we’ve heard that at night it can be exceptionally packed, so be warned.

This narrow street is filled with artsy and unique independent shops along with hole in the wall cafes and bars. Singapore's first gallery is here - The Gelam Gallery. The vibrant mural art on the storefronts add a festive touch.

Is this better to visit during the day or the evening in terms of crowds?
Written 3 December 2017
In terms of crowds, it is better to visit during the day but it can be very warm and humid. The evening crowd size is slightly higher than the day by not not much, say 20% more.
