Lovely during Ramadan.

This is a Street Bazaar especially during Ramadan, it is lively and the atmosphere is different. I would compare it to my opinion, a little similar to Global Village as it is not a permanent market. The street foods are amazing. Husband went mad as we missed the lamb shank briyani as it was closed! However, there was only another person selling and it was delicious. Lots and lots of different stalls and shops. I enjoyed it as I like to explore different culture and also you will get a lot of bargains. Different types of food. Indian, chinese, malay, you will definitely enjoy for couple of hours there. The only shop who was selling the biggest lamb shank briyani.

Great place to shop local

We enjoyed shopping for local and native ingredients, such as serunding and dates and chillies and spices and kropek. I also love the food and drinks stalls. Some of the locals are also helpful, an auntie helped us talk to the vendor that we need a box. Also the market is fairly clean, and is also crowded probably because it’s noon time. Overall experience: very good, and will comeback there on next visit.

A patchwork of sundries, snacks and clothes

This ethnic marketplace was well laid out and bustling with Malaysian and Singaporean shoppers. Not as clean as some of the other markets but I'm glad I went. There was a crowd of shoppers in line for a certain spice that supposedly gives their curries an extra kick.

Rating Wet Market or Food Centre

Wet Market: Yes, rather smelly. Cheap, but not high quality goods. Their cleanliness need to improve a wee bit.
Cultural value? Visit the new Community Centre just beside it as well.
Food? 5 stars the best congregation of malay, indian, and, indonesian food. Very few stall open in the evening, which is a pity. It should stay open.
Mutton soup? All 3 stalls are good but imho Igbal is the best in Singapore.
Authentic and original chendol with absolutely tasty and fragrant gula melaka and chendol.
Best indonesian? Sinar Pagi.
Nasi Brani? All the stalls are reasonably good, do not lose to tekka market.
Must try! Haig Road Putu Piring, voted best in Singapore on the ground floor food court.
Malay food? Hajijah Mona.
Worthy mention? Otak Otak 02_165.
I live directly opposite and eat here often.

Authentic experience

I was interested to try something bit different, so I headed to this market in Geyland not far away from the East Coast park. I haven't tried Malaysian food before and I didn't want to order a particular dish, so I just asked the old lady about each ingredient and decided there and then. I enjoyed the experience very much, the only thing you should remember is the cultural aspect of Malaysians. Most of the visitors were of Muslim religion and it was very awkward to have the eyes of locals on my bare shoulders and legs.

Malaysian Experience in Singapore

This place is a mixture of a hawker centre food market and some whole sale shops selling clothes and small articles. Almost all the stall here are Halal understandable as most of them are Malayan, Indonesian and Indian. Not the cleanest place but very roomy and if you like spicy food this is the place.

Delicious Lunch with abit of shopping

Had a great lunch at the hawker center, there are quite a number of food stalls selling Nasi Padang and a handful doing delicious briyani. We end up having nasi padang from 2 different stalls and a plate of chicken briyani from a stall nearest to us, only regret we should have ordered the mutton briyani. All in all, it was a delicious lunch.
After lunch we went around to buy the delightful malay cakes or kueh kueh as it is known. There are afew of these stalls selling these kueh kueh. Bought some of it and it was wonderful, just like we had it in the old days.

Amazing find!

Delicious food found here! It’s kind of a food hall with many stall “take aways.”

it seems like a local meeting spot for families and friends eating lunch and dinner together.

Many different types of food stalls so you will find something to eat! All served in plastic trays. Very quaint and cool

Lunch/ Dinner will cost you around 6$ per person

If you want to find halal singapore food, this is the place . Alot of choices . Rice, noodles u name it . Easy access via paya lebar station

Many Great Malay, Indonesian and Indian food

I stay near there and ate there regularly.
Whats best? Best mutton soup in Singapore at the end on the right side.
Beside it the Dum Bryani is pretty good.
Traditional chendol without red bean at $1.50 is a worth mention. Sinar Pagi Indonesian nasi padang is expensive but tasty. All these require lining up but is worth the wait? YES!
Oh by the way the famous Haig Road Putu Piring is downstairs in the coffee shop.
All halal. Have a sumptious feast for a few dollars here.
