Singapore City Gallery is a great starting point to get to know the city...

Singapore City Gallery is a great starting point to get to know the city for free. Located beside the Maxwell food centre in the historic district of Chinatown, this 3 storey visitor centre goes beneath the skin of the city to understand how the city came to be with its memorable buildings, historic districts and walkable street. Design your own city through a dynamic 8-player game. The main draw is an enormous model replica of the City Centre with uncannily accurate miniatures of building, giving you bird's eye view of the streetscapes of Singapore.

Had not heard of this gallery, but was recommend to us. We had a great time earning about how Singapore was planned and where the town planner are taking the country over the next 20+ years. The model of Singapore on the ground floor is fantastic.

Learnt so much about Singapore at this free exhibition! It's close to Chinatown and perfect for a hot humid afternoon. There were so many facts that I didn't know about. The exhibitions were clear and easy to understand. There were some school kids with their teachers but it didn't create too much fuss.

This gallery describes how the city was built to what it is today and a glimpse of concepts for the future. I really liked the historical versus current photos and explanations of how it transformed. There are interactive displays as well as the big model of the city. This is a nice place to go for everyone, all ages, and... More

It's very surreal looking at this place as a local. Looking at how Singapore was designed left me with many questions, like how we were able to squeeze so much into a tiny island. They tried to be high-tech with some components of the gallery, but it was a pain to use the insensitive touchpads.

Stumbled upon this free gallery while exploring Chinatown/Ann Siang Hill. This is for the architectural buffs and they have a 'to scale' map of the whole Singapore including new and upcoming developments. Well, that's because this is the Urban Renewal Authority's gallery, no one else does it better than them. You can basically see the future of Singapore through the... More

This gallery is located near the Tanjong Pagar MRT Station. At this place, you can learn a lot of things related to the development history of Singapore and their upcoming plannings about the city. I can say that this is the most informative gallery that I’ve ever visited in the context of urban topics. Very recommended, and don’t forget to... More
