Top ways to experience ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands and nearby attractions

The area

Neighbourhood: Marina Bay
More of a mini city than a neighbourhood in the traditional sense, the iconic Marina Bay aims to dazzle and entertain visitors of all kinds. This is the Singapore found in glossy brochures, featuring a world-class hotel, casino, shops, restaurants, bars, and other attractions all geared towards pure entertainment. The SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands provides a stunning view of the city, a must-see photo opportunity for visitors and locals alike. The ArtScience Museum always has a top-quality exhibition, and Gardens by the Bay is a fascinating manifestation of the government’s vision of Singapore as a “city in a garden”. Enticing Marina Bay is well worth a visit.

World-class Museum and Professional Staffs. Special thanks to Mr. Tay Ke Huat (F106).
This is a must-visit world-class art museum. I really enjoyed my day in this museum. Let go of your stress and immerse yourself in all the interactive activities. It is definitely an ideal destination for both adults and children. I want to express my gratitude towards the Marina Bay Sands team, especially Mr. Tay Ke Huat (F106) from the Security Service Department for making this visit a pleasant one.

    Fantastic
We decided to visit all 3 exhibitions and was very pleased we did. They are well curated, educational with a WOW factor. Plus the team are helpful as they keep a watchful eye. The day we visited was relatively quiet so there were no queues but you may need to allow extra time during peak periods. Highly recommend.

    Fabulous morning out for families
We had a fabulous morning at the Art Science Museum. It is so interactive and so well designed. We had two teenagers with us (14 and 18) and they both loved it. We did the 3 exhibitions and we particularly loved “Future World - Where art meets science”. We also did the VR experience which was very cool.

    Enjoyable wet weather activity
We decided to change our itinerary because of the rain so came to the Artscience museum with not knowing what to expect. We decided to do the future world exhibition which was amazing although I suspect children might get more out of it. I took plenty of photos and particularly liked the final walk through of lights. It didn't feel to busy and we weren't rushed. We then decided to do the Mars exhibition which was very different and much more enjoyable for my father. When we left it had stopped raining so headed over to the gardens by the day as nearby.

Nice experience but need better services at ticketing
I was visiting the Mars: The Red Mirror exhibition. The initial ticketing was not too great. I am attended by shelia, and she was pretty rude to me, replying me with an attitude. Even when i thanks her for service, she didnt lift her head up or any acknowledgement. However the following exhibition and service was nice. The exhibition was filled with many interesting elements that allow me to learn about mars. Within that exhibition, there is also a friendly staff that explained the exhibit when i expressed perplexed. Overall the exhibition was nice but the customer service did damper the overall experience and i hope there is improvement on it.

Good experience of digital world of museum
Make sure you get to experience everything. To avoid crowds, go early in morning. Great place for to hang out with kids. We can draw and display on the large screen during exhibition. Overall it would require a hour or two to complete.

    This is fun!
We went to FutureWorld only and it was worth it. I wish spent more time playing with the lights. Small and big kids were enjoying it. Wear pants or shorts for the slide and other fun activities. Enjoy!

Great spot to round out a visit to MBS
This place was amazing for my kids 8 and 5 but mum and dad loved it too. The staff were amazing and the 90 mins we spent there was definitely a highlight. We loved seeing our colouring in come to life and we couldn’t get the kids off the climbing set. Location is perfect, make sure you pop into Apple Store nearby and Marina Bay shops - wow - with lots of places to grab a bite or a gondola ride.

Great for Families with Children Aged 5 to 12 Years!
My Uncle & I were on holiday in Singapore, we were staying at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. After walking around the entire Marina bay, past the Merlion statue and the Singapore Esplanade exhibition centre, we decided to visit the iconic building which sits on the waterfront of the Marina Bay Sands shopping mall, the ArtScience Museum. Fortunately for us, there were some tickets available for the Future Worlds exhibit at the time that we turned up at the ticketing counter. We only visited the Future Worlds exhibit, a permanent feature at the ArtScience Museum in Singapore, therefore I cannot comment on the other temporary exhibits going on at the time. The Future Worlds exhibit is very interesting, it is ideal for families with children between the age of 5 to 12 years-old. Some of the exhibits are interactive, especially the ones where you can draw and colour marine creatures and aeroplanes of your choice with the provided crayons, scan your completed drawing, and watch them come to life on the big screen together with other visitors' drawings! This is a nice introduction to Teamlabs Planet and Teamlabs Borderless in Tokyo, Japan. After this visit, I am looking forward to visiting both the Teamlabs exhibitions in Japan in July 2025! As for the Future Worlds exhibit here, I would recommend everyone who has children and grandchildren aged between 5 to 12 years, to bring your young ones here for half a day of wholesome and interactive fun!

We arrived at the museum just before 5 pm thinking we would have 2 hours before it closed and then would head over to the Garden by the Bays to watch the light show. We ended up waiting in line for about 20 minutes to get our tickets because there was exactly one cashier open (the other one was "busy"). So, it was well after 5 pm by the time we had our tickets for the 2 exhibitions (Future World and Sensory Odyssey). We were then told we had to enter the 2nd exhibition no later than 6 pm or we would not be allowed in. First they take forever to get us our tickets and then they limit the entry time!

Note: we were told the entry price was reduced because some of the exhibitions were closed. It was still expensive at about S$50 per person for 2 exhibitions.

As it turned out, we really did not need the time. The future world was a total disappointment. I could see it being interesting for children and it was entertaining for all of 15 minutes for adults. However, as we paid about S$50 for the 2 exhibitions, it was simply not worth the money for us.

The Sensory Odyssey was better as it had really excellent videos to watch in the various rooms where you saw the life of insects and animals from a different perspective. Still, this was about S$25 to watch about 20-25 minutes of various videos. Overall, we felt we could have spent the money on something much more interesting or an excellent meal. We had gone to the Gardens by Bay exhibitions, which was about the same cost and a truly spectacular experience.

Architecture of the building was unique and lotus pond outside of the museum was pretty. We saw large crowd so expected it to be something exciting and worthy. Boy were we tricked. Some parts started with high hopes but than it was huge let down as nothing of real substance is shown or displayed there. We paid for all 3 exhibitions there and all were waste of time. Original Disney drawings were cool to see but there was nothing else there worth my time or money. Perhaps if it was a free or nominal fee, it might be something to do if you had nothing else going on that day. Honestly, I feel like I got ripped off. All 6 of us couldn’t stop laughing due to our feeling of “taken”. Don’t waste your time here as there are plenty of other things to do in Singapore that’ll cost less money and more enjoyment.

I have been to Singapore 4 times and with all the walking and things to do I had come so close but never gone into the art science muaeaum at Marina Bay
So this time I did
I guess I thought I was going to a science center sort of like what I remember from the so radio science center with lots of machines and tech
Which is probably the reason I never entered here before as I know that the real science centres of machines and tech are not her thing
Like me going to an art museum I could be in and out in 5 mi utes
Those famous guys painted because they hadn’t invented cameras yet
And now because these fellows are long gone the art value has gone crazy?????
But this one place is different
It really explodes scince ideas within the realm of art
The exhibits had some brilliant computer technology behind their ideas but interestingly enough. It was really designed and set up more for kids, young ones , with their parents. Very interactively driven with kids own drawings as source for the experiments
In retrospect judging by the photos I have saved

Well worth the visit. 2 hours is plenty

Good interactive experience with science and technology. Buy a ticket online in advance to maybe avoid queuing and have a better price. Interactivity is wonderful and fun for kids. However there are a lot of angles to take art pictures for Instagram or Facebook for adults, so do not visit alone. Should visit their official site first and research about exhibitions.

We visited two exhibitions here - Disney and Future World. We found the Disney exhibition a little disappointing, it wasn't interactive at all and a little dull, even for my disney-loving 8 year old! However Future World made up for it, we spent hours there viewing and interacting with the displays. It was loved by both kids and adults. We also discovered that kids get free entry on a Friday, something not overly promoted but worth remembering.

Took a grab there and got dropped off at Marina Sands. No signs on where to go.kept looking around and found the underground walkway that goes across the road. Walked past all the expensive shops and came to the museum. There was a line up at the information desk. I went outside and saw a sign on the door that says ticketing is in Basement 2. Went down the stairs and it was the toilets. Went back up the stairs and looked and and there was a sign there that said ticketing with a red arrow pointing left. In the back corner out of sight was the escalator. Went down the escalators and there were people lined up in the airport style queue. So it was $45 for the museum and three other exhibits were $20 each or thereabouts. We looked on the web for slightly cheaper prices but it was all too difficult. So my partner and I said let’s get out of here as that $90 would buy a nice meal tonight. Took the MRT home (fortunately I saw the sign earlier) Looked on trip advisor reviews and one said their experience was good for one exhibit and the rest was a waste of space. We dodged a bullet there.

So the moral of the story is that if the universe is telling you don’t go there at every turn, listen to the duck and waddle on somewhere else.

A playground of lights, laser, projections, and all sorts art stuffs using visual effects. Kids will love it for sure, even adults do. This kind of attraction is already available in many places including my hometown but it's always nice to experience it someplace else. It has a cool artsy building.

My husband and I visited here and we both really enjoyed it even though we are both adults! Very interactive and very cool! Thank you for a great time there. My only thought on how the museum could improve is I wish staff were more attentive on childrens' behavior and enforcing rules. As an educator I do understand kids will be kids; however, a lot of what I witnessed is parents on cell phones while their children are running aroun disturbing other guests.

Fantastic place to visit for kids and adults. Current exhibit is future world. It merges art and computer science into a digital art work. The displays are innovative and interactive. The highlight for me was the space light room. My kids loved creating art then having it come to life on a digital world computer screen.

The Art and Science museum is housed in the very unique lotus shaped building by Marina Bay Sands. It has various floors for different themed exhibitions and displays. I enjoyed their light and art imagination displays. Very popular with children. The next section on Disney animation was quite interesting as well. Good for those with children to spend an afternoon interacting with the different displays.
