About
Wave House Sentosa is an ultimate beach destination of good food and drinks – within reach of the hustle and bustle of Singapore, but a world away. The Double FlowRider® is the more gentler of the two waves available at Wave House Sentosa, and is the first step to your exhilarating flowboarding experience. Endlessly fun to ride, this wave creates a safe, non-curling, endless sheet of water flowing at 20mph (32 km/h) over a composite vinyl surface, much like a trampoline. Riders can carve up and down the surface and perform many tricks similar to other board sports. The FlowBarrel®, the more dynamic of the two sheet waves at Wave House Sentosa, pumps 100,000 gallons of water per minute flowing as fast as 48 km/h to create the perfect endless barreling wave. An international sensation, for those seeking the adrenaline rush of a lifetime. Savor modern Californian–Asian cuisine at the Restaurant + Bar or cool off from the tropical heat at the outdoor Beach Bars.

My eleven year old son has his first surfing experience, it was fun seeing him fly up the slope on many occasions before he got the hang of it to ride on the board. The instructor was very nice and never gave up on her pupil.

We liked this wave house sentosa just a little less than the one we experienced in Phuket because one of the 2 lanes was down for repair, so instead of 2 teachers per 8 students, they had 1 teacher per 8 students, meaning every person got in a few less runs. Even so, this is a really fun activity for kids and adults alike! They play good music and have food and drinks available for those who are not surfing to enjoy.

I have never been to a flo rider before but had some idea of what to expect. It is a shame that it does appear a little bit run down and there was only 1 half turned on, but that didn't stop the staff from being super helpful and explained how to ride it and I had a fantastic time, definitely recommend paying extra and giving it a go if you have more time!!!!!

The staff from the lady behind the counter as we bought an hour session for surfing from the staff behind the bar. This was by far the worst experience I've ever come across. Rude is an understatement. I can't begin to explain. When I ordered a drink at the bar the lady just looked at me strangely and said what?! Rudely and then i repeated my self and she said wait and left the bar and came back 5 min later, did not acknowledge me upon her return just started pouring drinks, I asked "sorry, can I order, and she said I'm
Making them! So rudely!!!!!
If it wasn't super hot and I was dying for a drink I was ready to tell her how rude she bloody was!!!!!
NEVER COME HERE!

I went on the wave machine recently and fell off and bulged a disc in my neck and it ruined a great holiday. I could have been a paraplegic. Have had to have 6 weeks off work and have a long road to recovery... Please do not go on this as the staff do not seem to have any first aid experience...

The only positive thing about this place was the instructors and them being helpful moving up and down the waves (although sometimes they do take up your time as well as they are doing their own thing). Other than that it is very dangerous and I would not recommend anyone coming unless you are experienced riding or would like to get a whip lash. They will ask you to sign an indemnity form at the start and for good reason. My two other friends and myself all got injured. My friend had a cut from the board, the other had a huge bruise when he was hit by the board and I sprained my ligament when I was pounded with water and was pushed to the back and hit the soft wall at an awkward angle. The water pressure is great and I don't imagine this being a safe place for adults much less kids. I do a lot of water activities (wakeboarding and surfing) and have never got injured until now. They do not even teach you the appropriate way to fall and move to the back. As such, received a terrible whiplash the last time I came as well. Definitely will not come again (even though it is fun) until the safety and care for riders is improved.

Value: Have always wanted to check out the flowrider at wavehouse as I am into board and water sports, so took the opportunity the weekend I was staying at capella to give it a go. It was a Saturday afternoon so there were quite a large number of people who signed up for the same session as me. How they operate is they have sessions commencing every hour (e.g. 1030, 1130, 1230, …), you pay at the counter and they’ll give you a wrist band with a time stamp. The problem is, they only have 2 lanes on the flowrider, which means if there are 30 people during your hour, you’d only get about 4mins of riding time and at $40 per hour … well, you do the math. Honestly, I don’t think they control/limit the number of people who sign up for per each session, as the management’s objective is just purely to milk it for all its worth. The day that I was there, there were at least 20 people.

Service: Singapore is well known for our poor service standards and the service here is downright crappy. It was my first time at wavehouse so I had no idea where to purchase the wrist band for the flowrider. I wanted to get a beer as well, so I asked the bartender and the reply I got was, “at the billabong shop”. No directions whatsoever. The instructors at the flowrider were also not helpful at coaching or giving pointers on how to help the riders improve. They did give a demonstration, but that’s about it, they did not try to spot and point out the mistakes that the riders were making. Basically, I feel they were not adequate in being instructors at all. A good instructor is not one who excel in the sport they’re teach, but one who can teach it proficiently. I think the management at wavehouse should seriously look into the training and selection of their staff.

Flowrider: I’ve snowboard, surf and wakeboard before and the flowrider is like not really like any of the other sports. Even though I am pretty decent in the other board sports I’ve mentioned, I still had to start from scratch picking up the flowrider, so for those people who are thinking of using it as an alternative, think again. I only got about 5 go at it during my hour session and I barely managed to stand. But if you’re thinking of doing it just for the fun of it and you don’t mind being ripped off, oh hell, why not. Personally, I don’t think I’ll be going back to wavehouse any time soon. If I want my board and water fix, I think a trip to Desaru/Bali during the surf seasons or wakeboarding during the off season is more fruitful and although the upfront cost might seem more, if you work out the amount of board time you get, it’s more bang for the buck.

Dear Divermel We regret to hear that you did not enjoy your recent visit to Wave House Sentosa. To clarify, on each lane of the FlowRider, the maximum riders per hour is strictly controlled and consistently limited to 10 riders per one hour slot. It is by no means unlimited. We note your feedback on our instructors and appreciate your honest appraisal. We continually review their training and instruction of our guests, and your review will allow us to continue to do so in a constructive manner. Riding the FlowRider for the first time in that initial hour is often challenging, even for very experienced boardsports riders as the physics is a little different. But by the second or third hour, most customers are able to get the hang of it and begin to try maneuvers like carving from side to side. Essentially, once they get the hang of it, they start to really have fun on the waves and more often than not they come back for more. We do understand your preference for other water sports such as wakeboarding and open sea surfing. At Wave House Sentosa we offer something different, which is a safe and controlled environment for learning to ride on waves against the backdrop of an integrated lifestyle and entertainment venue with music as well as food and beverage. Please feel free to contact us at 6377 3113 should you have any questions, we will be glad to assist. We hope we have clarified on the waves and we do look forward to being able to welcome you at Wave House Sentosa again soon.

Sentosa was decently one of the best part in Singapore. So many things to do were you can have fun. I liked the wave house. Friendly people, nice to chill and good food and drinks. If you want to ride the bigger wave you have to be minimum 3 people. Other wise you can just surf the smaller wave witch is also fun. I spent two hours there and I could stand up right and jump on the board. It's different to wave surfing but very funny.

I frequented this place for a while, and even got a Wavehouse Sentosa card.

I'm a beginner and came every few weeks to patronize this place with friends. It was all in good fun as our whole group took turns to try the flow rider, we laughed and supported one another. It was a very good bonding activity.

I was trying to balance and I managed to be on my own without assistance. I was in the same position and spot for probably 10 seconds when suddenly the system jammed and the water stopped pumping. I fell, and was headed straight to the front drainage/ pump area. And my left leg went inside the drainage. It was so scary, I thought I was going to lose my leg or injure it badly.

I was very relieved that it was just a bruise and nothing more serious. But I was really frightened. Imagine if I fell face front instead of my leg going in, it would probably be my head.

After which, the staff told me that I should not be balancing on one same spot and should move left and right to avoid that in happening again. I just felt it was dangerous especially for beginners like me.

I never went back after that.
