We had a great experience whilst visiting the park. On arrival we were shown where to park our moterbike and to head over to the ticket kiosk. We decided to do the zip line, giant swing and plunge. All of the activities were safe and staff were well organised. The park is slightly far from other areas in Bohol however the drive is lovely lots to see. All 3 activities, parking and entrance fee came to around £22 per person, which is such good value for money!!

This was my best (and worst) trip so far. although getting in and out of EAT Danao was a real pain in the b*tt! EAT Danao is about 2.5-3.5hrs away from Tagbilaran City, depending on how you’re travelling. Since it was just my boyfriend and i, and we were on a tight budget, we had to do some major, major commute. car rentals to and fro EAT Danao's really expensive -- 2,000php might be the cheapest and that's if you don't intend to stay overnight. i asked Ms. Wiena, the nice lady from the Booking Office, for specific instructions how to get there, however, what i was given clashed with our flight sched.
FROM TAGBILARAN AIRPORT TO EAT DANAO#1 (Ms. Wiena’s instructions):
1. From Tagbilaran airport, ride a TRICY to Dao Terminal @ 30php/tricy, special ride.
2. At Dao Terminal, ride a bus going to DANAO @ 75php (approximately). But there’s a bus sched strictly followed. Bus starts arriving/leaving at 5am, 6,am ,8am, 12nn & onwards (hourly interval). Then get off Danao proper, then down to municipal corner where there are habal2 motors.
3. Ride habal-habal to EAT Danao @ 30php/head.
Unfortunately, our plane landed around 9am.
FROM TAGBILARAN AIRPORT TO EAT DANAO #2 (what we ended up doing)
1. TRICY to Dao Terminal @ 60php. we tried haggling but i guess it’s hard to haggle if they know you’re a tourist.
2. Since the next bus to Danao would be over 2hrs wait, we decided to ride the bus to SAGBAYAN @ 50php/pax.
3. from Sagbayan, we rode another bus and got off TAMENG @ 25php/pax. This particular commute was the hardest. All the buses were non-air-conditioned but this one was cramped and the seats aren’t well-padded. The bus was so packed that people were riding on top of the bus. They even took on a live pig. Good thing it rode on the bus compartment!
4. then habal2 to EAT Danao @ 150php/2pax.
We finally arrived EAT Danao around 2pm! Yey! Entrance fee @ 25php/pax.
ACCOMMODATION. The accommodation is really cheap. 600php for a fan cottage (6 cottages) & P1,000php for an air-conditioned room (2 rooms) – double occupancy. We opted for the fan room as it more spacious and better looking, plus each cottage has it’s own toilet & bath, whereas the a/c rooms share a common CR.
THE FOOD. The food’s not so cheap but i guess still reasonable. I can’t complain about the food but i can’t rave about it either. It’s just so-so. But then you went there for adventure, not for food. You don’t have to pay for each and every meal or activity... You can just have everything charged to your room.
THE SERVICE. The people are really nice and polite and they always have a smile on their faces. Great customer service! The adventure equipments were top of the line (Philippine standard, i guess) and there’s a free shuttle service to ferry you to some of the farther activity sites (sometimes you have to wait). But if you don’t want to wait, it’s just a 5-10min walk.
CAVING @ 350/pax, minimum of 5 people. It was really cool! It was my first and i wasn’t disappointed. Caving schedule: 9am (extreme – 2.5hrs), 12nn (extreme - 2.5hrs), & 3pm (moderate – 2hrs). We would’ve wanted the extreme caving but we were supposed to leave noon the next day so we had no choice. I suggest that you wear worn rubber shoes because there are jagged rocks. And make sure you wear clothes that you won’t mind getting wet. There are parts where you have to be fully submerged in water. It’s not a long trek but still an adventure. And accdg to the guides, a “super extreme” cave will open sometime in October!
SUISLIDE @ 350php/pax. You can ride solo, with a partner (which we did), and for couples with kids, they can ride astride their backs – piggyback style. It was fun and the view from the cliff was really great. We did the suislide first to warm us up...so we can get used to the height before doing the big plunge. Accdg to the guides, they are currently developing a 1.5km zipline, the longest in the Philippines!
THE PLUNGE @ 700/pax. This was the most exciting (and heart-stopping) thing i’ve ever done. My boyfriend even inverted himself so he can plunge head-first, but i wasn’t as brave. When i took the plunge, i swear my knees were buckling so hard and my scream was frozen in my throat. It felt like i was plunging to my death. My knees hasn’t stopped buckling yet from the plunge when i was swung backwards for the first big pendulum swing. i just started relaxing (after the first 2-3 swings) and then it was over. Damn! I missed it! i was too scared to feel the thrill.
We were still planning on doing more activities but we ran out of time. We still had to get to Panglao and god-knows the kind of commute ahead of us.
FROM EAT DANAO TO PANGLAO/TAGBILARAN (and vice versa). This is the easier route to take for commuters.
1. The nice receptionist called a habal2 for us. We were already running late for the next bus sched (the next one doesn’t leave until 3pm) so Mang Nanding @ 0908-2866878, the nice driver, advised us of another route. Get off Bogtong instead @ 250php/2pax then ride an FX. The motor ride from EAT Danao to Bogtong is about an hour.
2. From BUENAVISTA BOGTONG, ride an GT Express FX to Tagbilaran @ 110php/pax. The ride is about 1.5hrs.
3. We got off Tagbilaran Terminal then rode a mini-bus/jeepney to Tawala (we’re booked @ Paragayo Resort) @ 25php/pax. This was another painful ride. The vehicle was dilapidated (should’ve been retired years ago) and carried twice it’s supposed capacity.
NEGATIVE:
1. Water is pretty weak. We weren’t able to use the shower once.
2. The flush in our CR was broken
3. Walls between cottages is paper thin and almost non-existent! Since the material is indigenous (woven something, something), you can peep and see what the other room’s doing... i didn’t peep but i saw shards of light passing through holes (the size of an index finger’s tip) from the other cottage
4. There’s nothing to do after 5pm and the adventures are closed. the whole place is dark. The only tv is in the resto.
Overall, it was a nice, big adventure... from the commute to the actual EAT Danao activities.

I was in Danao in March 2013 as a solo traveller. I travelled from Tagbilaran city on a habal-habal with driver ( one can hire and drive for a higher fee). Generally, roads were good except for a few kilometers of rough roads ( gravel) and roadworks.
The Danao Extreme Adventure park is about 2 1/2 hrs drive from the city. It is managed by the local government of Danao ( awesomeffort). The price ranges vary for each ride and quite reasonable. Satisfaction is guaranteed. I tried the 3 rides- sky ride or cable car, the suislide or zipline and the plunge. The Plunge is the most fearful freefall ride of the 3. It is not one for the squeamish BUT for the brave and gutsy. It is 100% adrenaline rush!!! Free yer mind and screaaaaammmmm!!!!
My driver later admitted he almost peed his pants as he witnessed me fall to a great drop and dangle in the air.

Went here with my family. We all rode the cable car, and my son and I did the zip line. It is still recovering from typhoon damage, so a few rides were not open. However, the ones that were open were fun, and there was almost no waiting time required for each activity. It is a little bit off the beaten path from many popular parts of Bohol, and there are some rough roads to get there. With that said, you should definitely go if you will be in the area anyway.

Hey all,
I went to Danao Adventure Park this August. We stayed in Loboc, on the southern coast of Bohol so it took 2 hours to get there. Our main mission was to try "The Plunge," so we figured it would be worth it. But beware, AS OF AUGUST 2014-->THE PLUNGE IS CLOSED! Do not waste your time going all the way to Danao as the plunge and several other activities are closed.
That being said, the canyon is very beautiful and the ziplining was cool. But all in all, overrated and disappointing. They need to make knowledge of their closings more readily available.

This place was deserted upon arrival. No tourists. No locals. The positive reviews are all fake. This place is completely devastated & in need of a complete overhaul. We walked around & noticed all the rides in dire & unsafe shape. The park grounds were not well kept. Over grown bushes. Cracked pathways. On top of all this, we were still charged admission & was told the staff were on lunch.
The experience was quite horrific, even with our 2 local guides. We were told that Danao is controlled by rebels & that can be dangerous for tourists. Stay away from Danao & this park at all costs. Go visit the Chocolate Hills instead.

So I'll start this with I wouldn't bother making the trip all the way to Danao for this adventure park. I've done various zip lines and adventurous activities across the world and never had an issue. I came here mainly to do the zip line and plunge, I accidentally arrived at the lunch break (12-1) so I had to wait which was fair enough, but I waited to nearly 2pm till the workers bothered to arrive back at the activity posts. A few Filipinos' walk up as the guys were arriving back at the zip line, bare in mind I'd waited nearly 2 hours, and they completely ignored me and served the Filipino people and I was like "I've been waiting here" to which they completely ignored so I just left and went over to the plunge, to which I had to wait even more time for the guys running this activity to arrive back, again the filipino people arrived after me got served before me, during this time all the workers were obnoxiously all talking, laughing and looking at me. Maybe they got a kick out of making a girl by herself feel uncomfortable? Weird behaviour. Then after the filipino people finished I asked "Can I do it?" To which all the guys started looking at each other and one was like "you're too heavy" and they all start laughing. I left crying and just went to ask for my entrance fee back since my whole day was wasted and ruined. I was so excited to come to this place and from my experience, I wouldn't recommend at all. Upon staying locally, and speaking to local people they said the adventure park would hopefully bring more tourism to the area but I very highly doubt that when they treat people the way they do. I'd suggest going elsewhere to do the activities.

We drove several hours to get to the adventure park on motor bikes just for the bungee jump. When we got there they told us it was longer available due to the earthquake in 2013. The women told me they haven't updated their website because they haven't had any internet. No internet for 2 years?! She even had a smart phone in her hand while she told me this! Unbelievable! I bet she was tweeting/facebooking before and after we spoke. I even had full 3G globe service at the location. There were only a few activities available - zipline, repelling, root climbing, and canoeing.
The zipline was fun. I would have never gone though if I knew there was no bungee ...

My daughter (age 14) didn't quite know how to describe the "Suislide" but from the look on her face as she returned, she was thrilled.
I understood that this was a municipal government run facility and from past experiences of such entities, I was not expecting much. And they didn't surprise. Many apparent employees sitting/standing around, working on personal motorcycles, etc. Not one made any common customer service action to greet us or provide any information. There was no finished walkways/sidewalks which left us climbing on terrain that can best be explained as mountainous. That all aside, the access to this tourist attraction is gruesome. It takes hours to arrive there from any other tourist site. The roads, in many places, made the trip painful. I do not expect this facility to stay open much longer. Any privately run, competing entity will be the demise of this facility. Only lavish inputs of government (taxpayers) money will allow this entity to survive.

When I drove up to this place, I was a little skeptical. I was traveling during low season so there weren't many people here at all. I was staying at Alona Beach so it also took me 2.5 hours to get there and 2,500 pesos. But you do get to see the chocolate hills on the way! I drove up to this place, after off roading for a few hours on muddy roads(be wary of renting a jeepy to get to this place), and there was a band with blind members playing. I think the site donates money to socialized medicine or something like that.
We traveled here so that we could do the Plunge. My two friends did it and loved the experience, and they also take a bunch of pictures while you do it. BUT what was amazing for me was the CAVING.
You will be climbing down walls and submerged up to your neck in water. You will get mud on your face and see bats. We chose to do the moderate cave expecting it to be just a walk along a cave looking at things. No. It was a great experience and a lot of fun - and a lot more adventurous than we thought it would be.
I really want to go back to this place (that's how cool it was) and do the extreme cave. the extreme cave lasts about 3 hours - and apparently there are pythons everywhere. Sounds scary but after going through the moderate cave, I just want to go back and do the extreme cave. To go caving you need 5 people - we just paid for 5 people even though it was 3 of us. Totally worth the price regardless. After the caving they also give you soap, shampoo, towels and a place to shower.
Moderate cave - 350 pesos Extreme cave - 600 pesos. Plunge - 700 pesos.
Go to this place if you can. SKIP THE CHOCOLATE HILLS if you like adventures.
THE CAFE was also really good. If you know what to order. Reasonable prices and large portions of local Filipino food. Get the Lechon.

(1) What is the height requirement for the zipline? I have an almost 5yo son who wants to ride the zipline with me.
(2) I'm also planning to take the cable ride back after the zipline. How long does it take for the cable ride to get back from the starting point?
Thanks!
