This is a museum showcasing one of Indonesia's most celebrated artist. On display are an extensive collection of his paintings, including self portraits and personal items. He lived and breathed art and these are portrayed through his work. There are three galleries and the last one displays works of his wife and daughter. The ticket price include a free drink.... Though an art lover, I knew nothing about Affandi before visiting this museum. A great exhibition in the spaces that he designed and lived, you certainly got a sense of the man and his art. A modernist with works spanning four decades we could see the evolution of his arts and as with many other great artists the return to... More

Visited the Affandi Museum with my Wife and were fascinated by the work of the late and most likely to date greatest Indonesian Artist. The expressionist style of his late paintings is also reflected in the museum's architecture. Highly recommended for art lovers.

We loved the paintings and the development in Affandis style throughout the years. And as a bonus we met his daugther, were very friendly and had interesting and friendly talk with us. One of the best museums in Yogya, if not the best.

Charming museum with eye-popping artwork by the man who is arguably Indonesia's most famous artist of international renown. The evolution of his style is interesting to see in this historical collection of works from his early years of poverty to his travels in India to the increasingly abstract and colorful works of his later years. And his car if very... More

Affandi was an important national figure and influential artist in Indonesia's modern history and this museum, which also was his home, is a great venue to appreciate his art. The artwork on display is fascinating - sometimes dark and a lot of painted self portraits, it is definitely interesting to see. There are 3 galleries and an additional gallery containing... More

This museum is very nice if your an art lover. The gallery features the artist Affandi and its quite unique. Some fantastic art displayed in a very different sort of setting. It's worth a visit if your interested in seeing the works of a modern genius that only just recently passed away.

Love the place ! Ask the guide for help if you want to know more about the behind the painting stories. The guide would be happy to help you. Some of them are a tourism student so you can also ask them where to go for your trip in Yogya
