- Jim1,061 contributionsA beautiful shopping with lots to do.Grand Indonesia Mall is a gigantic shopping mall with 8 floors of shops of all kinds and lots of restaurant/dining options. It is close to MRT station Bundaran HI. It is a great shopping place to experience modern Indonesia.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 9 February 2024
- Angela L.Singapore, Singapore221 contributionsNice and big mallLots of major international brand names with many eateries and shops. One of the megamalls of Jakarta. Multi-level with 2 wings and a very large variety of shops. Safe for tourists, but it gets crowded so watch your belongings.Visited February 2024Travelled soloWritten 27 February 2024
- stoobzAl Khobar, Saudi Arabia84 contributionsIf you're in Jakarta and at a loss, visit this mall and you'll easily pass a few hours away.Usually, I avoid malls. It's not that I don't like crowds - I love music festivals, concerts, clubs, bars. It's the shops and the queues and the endless amount of things to buy that slowly eats away at my esteem until I just feel the need to leave and go sit in a park or something. However, I can honestly say I enjoyed being in this mall - this monster of a mall! It has everything though - food, coffee, entertainment and shopping of course.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 4 August 2024

I live in Jakarta. My husband's office beside the mall. So, I almost visit to the mall everyday. Because I always back home together with my hubby. Talk about that mall, you can find any kind of stuffs at the mall. You can find some international brand here. A lot of international boutiques such as Coach, Kate Spade, Zara, H & M, Dr. Martens, Apple, Adidas, Nike, Timberland etc here. But if you want to buy a local brand, you can visit Alun-Alun Indonesia. You can find some Indonesian products such as Batik and handicraft from several regions in Indonesia.
For your information, the mall is divided into two, namely east mall and west mall. You could into the mall from Arjuna Lobby at West Mall or Rama Lobby at East Mall.
When you starved, you can visit Food Print at West Mall. You can find some food here such as Chinese, Japanese, Vietnam food. If you like snack, you can choose creeps or martabak. Besides the food court, there are many restaurants. You can choose Remboelan or Satay Khas Senayan or Cafe Batavia or Taliwang for Indonesian Food. If you want to drink a cup of coffee, you can visit Nomz or Public Markette at East Mall. Or you can choose Benedict to enjoy your coffee and cake. You can visit the Djournal for a cup of cappuccino. They have a delicious cappuccino.

Mall Grand Indonesia is very large mall, it has 2 building, East Mall and West Mall.
West Mall side has more mid range brand. East Mall side is more expensive brand.
The food court is very large, at the 3rd Floor. At the top floor, there's a big cinema, CGV.

It was good to find some kebab in the shop "Doner Kebab " ( usually there is no real kebab restaurant in Jakarta ). But it was solid beef, though a bit hard. Cannot be termed as real kebab, they actually lack indian, pakistani or middle eastern cuisine im the whole of jakarta. Other than that, this mall is superb. I had eaten in hok ben, shigeru, hong tao. Passed nice time with family.

Very strategic place for walking with family
The food court also provides a variety of foods at very competitive prices.
One thing that is very memorable for us playing here, when we were in the Mall our family was sick and vomiting.
But a young man who was on duty near the toilet was very quick to respond and even wanted to carry and sympathize until our family felt comfortable that he was always standing by to help.
Thank Mas Eva
We are proud of you
Worthy of emulation by other employees

One of the biggest mall at Jakarta. You need to come several times here before you can know each areas in the mall because it's a big mall with many tenants & the mall separate from the east to the west. The parking area also big but still difficult to find the slot of park at the weekend.

The Grand Indonesian Mall was across the street from our hotel and we were told that it was a good spot to get some food. This was my first time to Jakarta and I was shocked by the size of this mall and the food options. Almost the entire top levels are food places, which meant that we had close to 100 places to choose to eat.
We had at least one meal a day in the mall as we found so many places we wanted to try eating. Once you were done with that, you could shop as well. I know for locals, this is some pretty expensive food, but for a tourist, it was very affordable.

All the midrange and high brands could be found in this mall. Very busy mall indeed and quiet complicated as had many sections. The decor of the mall is interesting as every floor was different. The floor with the restaurant looked european style decor. And lower basement had the food market and food court. Only thing to be careful about is many eateries take card only and no cash. So check that before standing in line.

I don't what "Darby hotels" are, but the Kempinski hotel is connected to the mall, and the Mandarin Oriental, the Pullman, and the Ascott are all within minutes of the mall.
Written 3 September 2018
There is also the Mandarin Oriental Hotel across from the mall. Their breakfast is lovely too. They provide free return taxi to the mall once a day. Good deal :)

You should convert whatever currency you have into Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) for any transactions in Indonesia, unless you go with credit/debit card - then your transaction will be electronically proceeded and automatically converted to match the IDR amount of your transaction. There are plenty of money exchange services you can easily find, especially in Jakarta - you can even find some money exchange service at the airport so you will have Indonesian Rupiah before you leave the airport. At Grand Indonesia shopping mall, I think they have a money changer office called "Dua Sisi" there, just ask for direction. You may also easily go to any ATM machine - which is abundant - at the mall with the "Visa" or "Master Card" logo on it (depends on your debit card logo) to withdraw some Indonesian Rupiah. If you withdraw IDR from ATM machine, it will be automatically converted to IDR from any currency your saving account was. I think this might also work for credit card as well.
