This museum is well worth the time to see. Puppetry or Wayang in bahasa is a big part of their culture. It is used to tell a few very important stories about Hindi gods and goddesses. This museum shows the two major types of puppetry found in Indonesia. The signage is decent so you can get a good sense of... More

This museum is hiding nearby Jakarta History Museum. The Puppet Museum Whose shares are thousands of the most beautiful and the high art of Indonesia. And also with puppets from around the world on display. Good value for tickets. Very impressed don't miss.

Good museum, but only partially air-conditioned. Not well lit. Very little English description. Has a good collection.

We visited here as part of a visit to Cafe Batavia. The puppet collection is large and although it focuses on Indonesian puppets it does also feature puppets from around the world. Although there are explanatory signs in English which was a pleasant surprise, the display of the puppets and lighting could be hugely improved. Worth a one off visit... More

The museum is kind of cute. With only Rp 5000 ( 50 cents), one can explore the 2-storey building to see some sample of different kind of wayang (puppet) from different regions of Indonesia. The room is quite cool with the help of working air conditioner. I went there on a Saturday and was not too crowded. They can benefit... More

When you read "Museum Wayang" you might think it is a museum for Indonesian Puppet. Either it is "Wayang Kulit" or "Wayang Golek". But we are lucky enough to have a guide who are so pleasant. He is our private photographer, guide with perfect knowledge of the museum. The building was a church with some headstone of Dutch people in... More

This is a venue I will go back to as we didn't see all the exibts they had. Some of the puppets are over 100 years old and in excellent condition. They give u a book on the museum in both Baharsa and English. Only criticism some of the displays are only in Indonesian .entrance fee Rp5000

A great place to see the history of Wayang. Spread over 2 floors you can see a large variety of puppets.

This museum offers interesting collections of puppets, dolls, masks, and some paintings too. Too bad the place is too hot. No aircon inside and the air is a little bit stuffy. But I think it's not too bad since it's not very big so you won't spend too much time in there and the ticket is very cheap. This one... More
