Incredible place, 4 or 5 storeys of cheap (and fake) products from socks to jewellery and everything in between. You could easily spend a day wandering around here and if you do, grab yourself a “bargain”. You’re not going to buy a real designer handbag for £100 but you might get a pretty good fake. They don’t hide that it’s fake if you ask them. Food in the area is also traditional Indo/Chinese and very good value. You won’t see places like this in the U.K. or many other countries so it’s worth a visit if only for the experience.

I enjoyed looking around here yesterday looking for some presents. I was mainly looking at jewelry and the prices seemed alittle high so had to bargain. I'm not sure if they were giving bule prices but have a feeling they were. It's massive and can find everything here.

I usually visit ITC Mangga Dua on every visit to Jakarta. It's 3 shopping malls interconnected by a bridge; sell anything from computer parts to clothing, all the way to stationary. There are plenty of fake branded goods with the highest quality (you won't be able to tell the difference when you put it side by side with the original). The fake would simply wear out faster. It's usually overcrowded but definitely worth a visit.

A metered taxi ride from Central Jakarta (Menteng) to ITC will cost you around Rp 28,000 only. Make sure you quote 'ITC (ay-tay-say) Mangga Dua'. You may end up in different malls if you only quote 'Mangga Dua'.

This place is really really huge and packed! It can get really crowded during weekends. You can find stuffs like T-shirt, imitated luxury goods, DVDs, shoes, souvenirs, local handcrafts, bridal wardrobe and the list goes on!

The offered price of all this items are very high which almost 100% from the wholeseller price. This is where the funs begin. You bargain with your price which 20-30% less than the initial price. When they agree, try to buy other goods and bargain the total price. I managed to grab 3 very nice T-shirt at Rp150,000 instead of Rp320,000. The key is being nice and not too bossy.

If you fly to Jakarta and stay around this area, you may cut you cost by skipping rubbish luggage fee (as for budget airlines) by buying all your wardrobe here. I bought almost everything from undergarment to clubbing shirts and shoes. Make sure you bring enougb cash. The money changer is very rare and rate are not good. Overall, I really love this place! My total damaged was around Rp1,800,000 and I really really happy! I feel like winner ;)

It's a place where you wanna buy cheap goods. Remember to bargain around. The mall is connected to other nearby malls by a bridge. Nearby is an IT shop lots where you can get IT stuffs at a good price. Remember that the mall closes very early around 5.30PM local time.

Although it is crowded and packed with people, locals and tourists alike you'll find something for yourself or souveniers to buy to take home. if you're staying outside the magga dua perimetres traffic can be atrocious.

Got the taxi driver to drop us at Mal Magga Dua - most the shops werent open until 10am so dont go too early. This side was mainly electronics and dvd's etc. We used the toilet facilities at McDonalds while we waited for shops to open and tried to get coffee there but they only had black coffee (no milk). We then went over the bridge to the clothing section. Wow. Shopping overkill. We wandered around a bit aimlessly because we didnt really have a plan as to what we wanted to buy. Ended up just buying some baby clothes for my nieces little girl ($6 for a beautiful frilly party frock). Some stalls would barter but some said "fixed price" so check first and shop around. I think this is all ok if you know what you want to get and expecially if you just want things like tee shirts. Otherwise it is just an exercise in wandering about. I wouldnt bother going there again but glad I went there to see it for myself

ITC Mall Mangga Dua is interconnected with Mal Mangga Dua and Harcomas Mangga Dua on the opposite side of the road which specializes in gadgets, electronics, and Pasar Pagi Mangga Dua. Even the interconnecting links have shop outlets. F&B outlets are haphazardly placed, aisle are narrow. But the variety! Even you are not a shopaholic, just give this place a visit.

If you want a different shopping experience than just shopping centers and malls then perhaps a visit to ITC Mangga Dua should be put on the cards. ITCs are commonplace in Jakarta, they put market-style shopping within the confines of a shopping center-like building. This particular ITC is located in the shopping district of Mangga Dua.

ITC Mangga Dua consists of seven floors’ worth of shopping experience. In the main, the items that are on sale here are clothing and shoes though there are bags and jewelry here as well. There is a food court on the seventh floor and various snack vendors spread all around the ITC though we ended up eating at the A&W on the 1st floor.

One should not expect a shopping experience like the one in shopping centers when visiting ITC. Haggling is a must to get the best price, payments are in cash only, and (at least during my visit yesterday) it can get hot because the air conditioning does not work properly. You also have to keep watch of your wallet and mobile phones in case there are pickpockets in operation. Of course do keep an eye on your children at all times.

In recent times the facilities have been upgraded somewhat. There are more elevator units available which was why we were more confident taking our wheelchair-bound grandmother on our current visit.
