Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a fantastic and informative walk around with our guide Audrey. We did the LIFE AND DEATH- the weals and woes of the Chinese in early Colonial, She was a wealth of knowledge and taught us so many things we would have missed if we were on our own. Audrey is a broadcaster and a degree in culture. Her English is perfect and her knowledge of history and cultural ramifications and beyond were thought provoking. This is the best thing we did in Hong Kong.
Definitely great value for money.

Get to see the real city with your own truly local guide. Audrey met us at an agreed, easy to find point and took us to places that you would never see on the glitzy tour buses and shore excursions.

Audrey" lifted the lid" on HK Central telling us about its history and growth and taking us into markets, street markets, temples and areas of the city which would intimidate the lone traveller. Audrey pitched the tour perfectly, not swamping us with information and supplementing her words with photographs and maps of how it used to be.

We had a great tour. Do not be afraid to try out your own local tour. You will be amazed at what you will learn, see & do!

Thank you Audrey.

Perfection, the very reason the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong recommends Walk in Hong Kong’s tours above all others. Our private guide, Miranda Chan, expertly brought to life the complex and colorful history of this amazing place; importantly, from the Chinese perspective. There was so much to learn and her engaging storytelling held our attention. She answered every one of our questions and inspired us to continue to explore after our time together. On a personal note, Miranda’s passion for Hong Kong and desire to share it made this tour—and her—the highlight of our stay. We’ll leave Hong Kong with an even greater appreciation of its history, culture and people. Don’t just see the sites, book this transformative experience and ask for Miranda Chan.

Excellent private tour. A must-do! Our guide, Mr Rusty, was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us a fantastic day. We learnt about history and much more. We are well traveled and have high standards, and we were very happy with our tour guide - he was great and spoke excellent English. Time and money well invested. Can’t recommend enough.

We are a family with older parents. Our tour guide Carol was amazing! Knowing that we are not very familiar with some of the films, and were interested in history, she catered her guide to our interest and needs (including not having spoilers!). Our parents needed more time to walk, and she was patient with that, despite the tour overrunning.

We learnt new details in HK history, old architecture and HK films with details referencing their culture. Definitely had new appreciation for both the city and HK films. Recommended.

The Hong Kong movie related tour invited the director of the movie joining and explaining lots of behind the scene details. All the staff were very helpful.

I had messaged Walk In Hong Kong without a clear idea as to where to go explore in Hong Kong as locals, Joyce had kindly suggested for us to visit Yim Tim Tsai in Sai Kung as a cultural and art expedition. My boyfriend and I were not disappointed, Benita, our guide was excellent, thorough and very fun to hang out with!

10/10 experience for us!

Paul did an excellent job telling the tragic story of Shek Kip Mei Fire of 1953 and the subsequent redevelopment of the site. The story of Wong Jim, a famous local Cantopop songwriter, witnessing the fire and growing up in the neighbourhood was captivating. Our visit to Mei Ho House Museum took us back to the 1950s and it showcased the very cramped and rough living conditions of Hong Kong’s first public housing project. I enjoyed this part of the tour most.
Paul also took us to Apliu Street where I managed to find a cover replacement for my old cell phone. I was really pleased since I couldn’t find one in any electronic stores. We stopped at the Michelin rated Kwan Kee shop at Fuk Wa Street for chestnut pudding cake and small bowl pudding. They were so good!

I joined an online walking tour of Central with Walk-in as part of a virtual conference visit. As participants couldn't travel to HK the organisers offered this option of a virtual tour. Because we were joining online, my entire family – including kids – could watch with me...

I say "watch", but actually it was much more than that. Walk-in had this really cool setup, where on guide operates the Zoom room from somewhere indoors and thus has the resources and hands free to insert pictures, videos and else into the tour stream, while the second guide roams the streets with a hand-held camera. If the audience doesn't engage – as online audiences often don't – the two of them will also carry the conversation, thus creating a very natural, friendly tone for the entire experience.

They did show interesting sites and content and we did learn a lot, but more importantly they did manage to gives us the feeling to be on the ground with them. I didn't do online walks before, but this experience truly opened my mind for the options and opportunities.

Really, really impressed...
