I recently stayed in the premium lounge in terminal 2 for a 10 hour layover in Hong Kong. The environment felt clean and quiet, and there's ample supply of soft drinks, coffee, tea, and snacks. Meals (breakfast and lunch) and shower were included in the package. Overall, the staff were friendly and helpful. It did take a quite a while for them to clean up the dishes and cups which were beginning to clutter up my desk area. An on-site job interview was being conducted in the lounge while I was there, which I didn't mind but felt was a bit unprofessional. I'd recommend the place for 1-2 adults but definitely not for family with kids.

In terminal 1 there are full length reclining couches at gate 23 and 26, these are close to the windows behind the toilet buildings, they are comfortable and there were plenty available when I was there last week. For a long period it might be best to use a blanket
The airport plan available from the i centre shows all recliners

The Plaza Premium Lounge is great for a long or short layover. I had a 12 hour layover in Hong Kong and decided to book one of the private sleep areas, shower, and a 30 minute massage. It's not cheap, but probably cheaper than a hotel room, and practical if you have an overnight layover, as I did, and can't use it to see the city. They will also store luggage for you at no additional charge during your time there. The service was very good, the sleeping room was very small but comfortable with a private bathroom and television. My only reservation is that the food and drinks made available weren't great - no wine included and very limited snack selection. Still, it was worth it for me.

HK airport is one of the best in the world. Duty free was excellent, all the brands are here. The airport lounge was great too; one of the best is Singapore Airlines lounge.
As a gold star alliance cardholder, a member can go to any Star Alliance lounge and SQ lounge is my favourite serving A La Carte Meal with a great wine / cocktails bar. Moet & Chandon Imperial Champagne is served here. The service was just excellent!

I just visited Hong Kong for the eighth time. As always, the airport and the United Lounge were excellent. In spite of a few unpleasant events in the city, all of which I think have been over emphasized, the airport was fine. Other than additional security at the terminal entrances, which is perfectly understandable, everything has continued to be the superb airport that it is. The United Lounge staff are very friendly, always helpful to any travel related need, and professional. I already look forward to returning in May!

Travelling with three kids, we had a six hour stopover in Hong Kong before a midnight flight out and paid more than $300 Australian for access to the Hong Kong Airport Lounge thinking a shower and some comfort would be welcome during a long journey. We booked and paid up front and when we arrived at Hong Kong in the evening, we found it incredibly difficult to find the lounge which was a temporary facility while refurbishment work was apparently being done on the usual one. There was no signage at all and we kept getting directed to the usual lounge which was boarded up. After half an hour, we literally stumbled on it. No major problem BUT there was no room for five weary travellers to sit in the economy section so we sat at the edge of it in the first/business class section which was completely empty. We intended to move when some space became available. Well, we were very, very rudely moved on by a hostess (and I use the term loosely) to chairs and a table in the eating area. (In the whole time we were there, no-one ever did sit in the first/business class section.) The food was wholly unimpressive, a weird assortment of hot/cold foods that didn't sit well together. Very unappetising - I didn't even partake. Still no matter - it was the showers we were really waiting for. Two of our party had vomited during landing on the flight due to motion sickness so you can imagine how welcome a shower would have been. When we went to enquire, there was a two-and-a-half hour wait for a shower. There were only two showers for the whole lounge of people - so inadequate that it's hard to believe the company could advertise they had shower facilities. There must be some people whose flights leave before their place in the queue comes up. Unbelievable. The kids had fallen asleep but I woke them for showers which were patrolled by a particularly dour woman who insisted I usher them through in conveyor belt fashion (which I did). I wanted people who'd paid for showers to get access to them. All in all, this was a complete and utter rip-off. If they take bookings, surely they know they're over capacity and can't accommodate the people whose money they're shamelessly taking. I would have appreciated it if they'd told me they were full (in the section for plebs at least) at the time we were coming in and I wouldn't have bothered. In our entire trip, this first experience was by far our worst. It was absolutely terrible. Please, good, fair-minded people, don't be caught by the scam that is the Hong Kong Airport Lounge - at least while it is the temporary facility it is. Lob out on the lounges at your airport gate, splash your face with water in the toilets and save your hard-earned money on a good night out when you arrive at your destination. The Hong Kong Airport Lounge needs to be outed for the disgrace that it is.

The lounge is okay. But how the ground staff attitude at hong Kong check in counters makes my flying experience worst feeling ever. They are rude, rush me to repack, and even called me slow and stupid in Cantonese. I am Vietnamese and they didn't know I also understand Cantonese as well I will never fly with them again. The in-flight crew is amazing tho.

If you have lots of money and want to spend it. This is shoppers paradise. Every high end shop you could imagine with extortionate prices to match. The airport does not provide seating which is an excellent marketing ploy because that means unless you're at a gate you have nowhere else to go but around the many shops or the restaurants. Plenty of places to eat but seating is limited because everyone who's not at the shops area in the eating areas. Either way, you're spending money £££

I used the Premium Plaza Lounge (West) at Hong Kong International recently as I had a seven hour layover between my flight from London and the flight to Brisbane. I didn't know which lounge to use really, as I had no idea which departure gate my Brisbane flight would be leaving from. As it turned out, it was at the East end of the terminal, where there is another Lounge. I had read other reviews about having to wait for a shower, but I was able to have one as soon as I arrived at the lounge area. It may be that it gets busier as more flights arrive, hence the wait for a shower. It was so good to be able to freshen up after the 13 hours or so from London, and the lounge was much more peaceful and comfortable than waiting at the departure gate. The food available was fine, but don't expect steaks, etc. Just be happy with what's on offer!!! In fact, I wasn't exactly hungry after the long flight, but did enjoy a sample of a few of the foods available just because it would be a while before my next flight. It isn't a huge lounge, so it is probably busy when a few planes arrive close together. Unfortunately, there always seems to be someone who just doesn't get the 'etiquette' in these lounges!!!! A family arrived with two small children. The father was on his phone and talking in an excessively loud voice, and one of their children was left to 'play' with the keyboard of one of the computers available to lounge users (play means banging with both hands on the keys). I had to turn to the father and ask him to lower his voice, which he did, thankfully. People use these lounges for the peace and quiet, so it is expected that other users respect that. All in all, I would certainly recommend booking into one of the lounges, and I can only assume that the East Lounge is just as good.
