The area
Neighbourhood: Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.

- BarrySingapore, Singapore351 contributionsMediocre mall for luxury brandsAll the luxury big brands (Gucci, Chanel, LV, etc.) have stores here but this shopping mall does look a bit dated compared to other first-world countries’ prime shopping strips. Each floor does not have a high ceiling causing the luxury stores to look small and mediocre 😧Visited June 2024Travelled soloWritten 3 June 2024
- bradHong Kong, China49 contributionsNot so busy mall in Causeway bayAs Causeway bay is always crowd and busy, Times Square is quite empty. Not sure if it's because of the stores inside the mall. Can find luxury stores here and there is a MTR exit right under the mall.Visited June 2024Travelled soloWritten 8 July 2024

- Michael KSan Jose, California1,139 contributionsRelatively busy mall with access to MTR stationThis is a nice upscale mall with lots of people coming and going on the ground floor due to the MTR exit. I am not into shopping and on passing through, it does look nice. However, as far as human traffic goes, nothing can beat the area around Sogo on Hennessy Road in Causeway Bay just 5 minutes away on foot.Visited October 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 October 2024

A nice moderate sized shopping mall not too far from Central and the outside is decorated to resemble a miniature Times Square of New York with lights flashing decorations and signs. The mall itself is more vertical than horizontal. Each floor is relatively small but there are ten floors reachable by escalator or elevator. The way the escalators are set up, a bit scary for those afraid of heights especially going down. Glass elevators while not perfect, are abetter choice. The mall, while pleasant enough, is a bit dark and dated and could use a bit of a makeover.

Times Square is a huge shopping mall on 16 floors, with shopping, restaurants and MTR subway access. Located in busy Causeway Bay area, it is very popular and especially busy most of the day not to mention lunchtime. It is a popular tourist spot also with all the exclusive brand name stores, specialty shops, a plethora of restaurants, Chinese, Asian and Western, bakeries,, cafés, chocolate shops and gift stores. Worth a walk thru even if you have nothing to buy.

Times Square is a feature shopping mall in Causeway Bay. It opened in 1994 and is considered Hong Kong's first Vertical Mall. These days it is a middle of the pack shopping destination in CWB being larger the WTC, much nicer than LaForet, more vertical then SOGO, less spread out than Fashion Walk, less claustrophobic than Hysan Place and more accessible than Lee Gardens.
The mall centres around an open atrium with a dozen or so floors lined with mid to high range and luxury retail brand shops. Eateries and coffee shops are more casual than what you will find higher-end malls like Lee Gardens. There is a CitySuper in the basement as well as a cinema at Times Square. This mall is also known for its seasonal holiday decorations. Having said that the Xmas displays the past few seasons have been rather lacking.
Overall, Times Square has its place in the shopping mecca of Causeway Bay. It is directly accessible from the MTR Station (exit A) as well. It is a good place to start your shopping incursion into the district before moving on to other venues nearby.

It's a large shopping mall with an overwhelming, huge atrium. It has a wide range of fashion and miscellaneous goods from casual to luxury brands, as well as a movie theater, electronics stores, restaurants and cafes. It's conveniently connected to the MTR.

We didn't visit Times Square to shop (oops!). Was looking for a place to store our luggages after checking out. Times Square offers free storage facilities. Small and medium sized luggage (cabin sized) can be stored in lockers on the 3rd floor and 8th floor. Large luggage can be deposited at the service counter on the 2nd floor. The only caveat is that they only accept locked luggages, and will reject large sized backpacks.
The Star Wars display was excellent and is a "must see" for Star Wars fans!

I found the shopping centre a little frustrating to get around, up and up escalators, BUT once you got up to the 9th floor, go visit the book shop - it is like the Tardis in Doctor Who.

Nice place with many fancy brand inside.
Although I'm not the shopping type, me and my friends decided to pick this place as our meeting point.
Easy to locate and they have a separate building for restaurants!
How easy to get feed in Hong Kong? Here's my answer!

was cheaper in south Africa which was surprisingly
times square was beautuful to stroll through and window drool but very expensive and will definitely not get a bargain there

Train would be the best since the station exits right into Causewaybay it is next to Times Square. Please look out for a Metro Map that would be available in airport and also in your hotel. Metro from your hotel is a 5 minute walk. There are 4 main lines. Follow instructions that are available in Metro terminal and also inside the train. Enjoy your travels
