Stanley is very different to other parts of Hong Kong, or completely different from what you think about Hong Kong. Stanley, located at the southern of Hong Kong island, is much more relaxed with beaches, hills and coves. You will find the western atmosphere in this small Chinese town.

Stopped here whilst on the hop on hop off bus tour. Lots of shops & restaurants. There is also a market which is reasonably priced. Food prices in the restaurants quite pricey and they are very busy

Stanley is a short minibus ride away from the hustle of Hong Kong or Kowloon. It offers great shopping of many kinds - parkas, ski wear, table linen, caps, luggage tags in your birth sign (I am rat), fold-up dragons, etc. It also offers relaxed...More

Nice village market, but not cheap and very touristy. If your limited with your time, defiantly you can skip it. The market has no direct metro connection and you will have the option to get there with a taxi or bus. We went there after...More

You cannot say that you've truly experienced Hong Kong unless you've been to Stanley Markets. If you're a thrill seeker, then you have to take the double decker bus to get there. The bus winds along the narrow roadway which seems like it's a thousand...More

Fantastic bus ride ( 6 ) costs 84p each way & took 25 mins.with amazing views of city .Stanley is former colonial town with pleasant bars facing the sea- very relaxed after the bustle of the city . Recommend it for a day out

This market is very different to Mongkok. Items were much better and stall holders did not harass you. They didn’t bargain though. Well worth the trip

I think you should head to Tsim Sha sui for a tailor as you will have options to choose from and will be spoiled for choice.

I haven't tried the junk boat over there. I know there was one around Tsim Sha Tsui but I am not sure it stopped servicing or not. I regard taking the boat in Tai O is much more fun in my mind.
