Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

...of HK Island’s built-up centre, as well as the skyscrapers of Kowloon and Kwun Tong, especially from the bridge between the waterfront and Victoria Park, with a clear line of sight to each. There is a wide range of boats to look at too, I suppose.

This is a historically important typhoon shelter constructed after the devastating 1874 typhoon. While today, it shelters more yachts and leisure boats compared to the sampans of the old days, it has long been a place visitors have come to enjoy views of the harbour and to see the boats in shelter. It is also the location of the historical noonday gun.
This autumn, the promenade area at the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter was revitalised and reopened with brick surface walking space, landscaping, seating spots and installations that are child and family friendly. This is part of a larger scale project to create more waterfront space along Victoria Harbour for residents and visitors to enjoy and something those staying in Causeway Bay can look forward to seeing.

is located in Causeway Bay & was the first typhoon shelter in Hong Kong.
It is currently largely filled in, as part of road development works.
Very open view
A good shot point to take pic, I think the best time is at dusk

Walk past, you've sene it, and probably won't know it was there. Unless the locals told me the wrong place this isn't worth the tramride.

The Causeway Bay Shelter is a typhoon refuge location and not much of a tourist attraction. There is little to see here other than a few remaining old vessels and some more modern yachts that are often parked in these waters. One reason to consider a visit here the firing of the Noonday Gun, which has a long standing history in Hong Kong. This draws a few visitors each day. Otherwise, there is little reason to try and find the Causeway Bay Shelter.
If you are interested in a traditional sampoon boat ride, there are better areas in Hong Kong to go for this purpose, the best is probably in Aberdeen. Traditional sampoon rides can also be arranged in Sai Kung. Alternatively, at the Avenue of Stars, you can arrange a ride on the modern and fun Aqua Luna 'junk' boat.

Hong Kong was once an important transit port between China and the rest of the world, so viewing the magnificent Victoria Harbour from a place other than the Peak or Tsim Sha Tsui surely is a special experience. From the smell of the stinky harbour to the smell of the ship gasoline, you can never see the Victoria Harbour more 4D.

Nice enough view from afar, but don't go there if your yacht isn't moored there.
You can walk by and be greeted by the steamy nullah smell if that's your idea of authenticity.

If you come to see the Noonday gun (come at noon otherwise nothing to see as it is covered) then you may be tempted to search for the typhoon barrier. Don't be. It is just a pile of rocks with some boats moored at the best of times. Unfortunately at the moment there is a vast amount of major costruction for the MTR that is likely to last some years. You can hardly see the barrier and there is no access to it plus the pollution due to the nearby 10 lane main road as well as ongoing construction is horrendous.

Perfect place to gaze at the Victoria Harbour with BYO drinks. Just don't pay a visit now - it's currently under construction. Walk over to the Wan Chai coastline to escape from the pungent construction smell.
