I had to write as a response to many reviewers saying that they were shocked to be asked for a tip. I have travelled all over and frequently have services in spas. It should not be a surprise that you should give a tip to someone who has taken care of you. I think that language may be an issue... More

A bit old and dated, but has aged with a certain charm. The interior leans towards the roman style. There are no windows, thus I think that they could have picked a better describing name, leaving out the sun. That being said, the place is fairly large and I did not miss any windows. Mens area: One large hot jacuzzi,... More

We enjoyed a fantastic foot massage in this well organised place. Upon finishing we were asked by the masseuse how much tip we were going to give her. I thought I had misheard?! Upon request she repeated herself: 'How much tip you give me now?' We felt this was inappropriate and rude.

Given many of the questionable establishments and massage offers in Hong Kong, there is a degree of uncertainty entering a place like this for the first time. Functional & old school it may be but it's also great value & a unique experience. Without getting two many instructions I was led to the male floor (there is a seperate female... More

The place is a bit run down but it could work in its favour as it makes it less generic and more 'old world' memorable. The sauna is good and the snack lady (in the women's section) very nice, almost motherly. The massage on the other hand wasn't great - rough, with no response from the masseuse - perhaps the... Being a frequent visitor (3-4 times a month) to this place I can highly recommend it for any sauna lover. It features a hot (sometimes really hot -- Russian style) sauna, ice cold pool and a nice hot jacuzzi. They always serve fresh juices and a set of snacks included into the price. Massage is pretty hard and painful (not... More

I've had many massages in Shanghai. All I can say here 90 minutes is Authentic and Superb! I was treated by a old white hair lady. I mean looks like 60+ old. Firstly, I loved the walks on my back, so relaxing! It washes out all my tightness. Secondly, she really know what she's doing. Find the right spots that... More

First of all, I'm from New York City. I've travelled the world and had massages at some of the finest spas globally. This sauna is a traditional sort of place where they use traditional techniques. There's a steam room sauna and pool, and you get to use all that and have a 45 minute massage with drinks and food for... More

First a disclaimer: A quick bit of research will turn up plenty of info about Wan Chai and specifically Lockhart Road's reputation. This is not "that kind" of place but rather a totally legit and amazing sauna and massage. If you've been hoofing it around HK and are looking for some R&R I have a hard time imagining a better... I went to the sauna for massage, manicure and pedicure. I end up spending four hour shifting between hot and cold jacuzzi, sauna room and the steam room. Plenty of free food, beverage and fresh fruits.

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
