In the middle of Jiefangbei Square. By itself is not worth the effort but if you come to window shop and find street food nearby the square or catch dinner and a movie than it is worth it. I have come near sunset and the...More

The monument situated right in the city is a place of attraction for tourists and the locals. Beautiful landscapes and high-rise buildings are found along the pedestrian street where the monument stands.

The People's Liberation Monument right in the center of the square is an obelisk, not too high, that was built to commemorate the end of the Second World War and later transformed into a monument to hail the Chinese revolution. It's located in the most...More

It's hard to imagine, but when this WWII monument was originally built it was the tallest structure in the city! Now dwarfed by the surrounding skyscrapers, it still is a central spot to meet up with friends and have your picture taken when you are...More

The Jiefangbei area is very nice to wander through and this monument is in the centre. Nothing too interesting but a nice spot to sit and take in the surrounds. Lots of places to eat and shop at nearby.

Premium shopping district with an expensive clock tower in the middle. Good landmark to meet and gather with the rest of your friends, especially in big groups. Nothing interesting.

This is the shopping center of the city. However, the shops and department stores here are really expensive and over price. Recommended for the brandname lover and willing to pay extra.

It smells crazy to think that the jiefangbei monument used to be the tallest building in Chongqing! Although it's all fancy shops around it's amazing to compare it to all the skyscrapers enclosing it.

This monument is just a tower in the middle of a square full of expensive stores like Prada, Givenchy, etc. It's interesting to take a walk but not a place to spend a lot of time.
