Located along and near the street are Tiananmen Square, central Government buildings, The National Museum, National Centre for the Performing Arts and banks. Because of its sensitive location, trucks and freight vehicles are banned day and night and... More

Just can't give enough comments of this street... See it for yourself! Bring your camera, enjoy the walk from DongDan Subway Station to Xidan Subway Station. Ensure your safety, don't cross the street, there are underpass ways if there is any shopping mall you want to see, have coffee or eat.

The size of the Square and Palace are huge and one can only imagine the impression it gave people over the centuries. The place is built to impress power and dominate any visitor even today. A walk around the square and visiting the palace close by is a full days excursion and if English is well narrated through the voice... More

This in itself isn't an attraction. This is a street that can access both Tienanmen Square and the Forbidden City.

This street is ridiculously wide- 12 lanes, and during the day it's full of cars! Worth having a look while you are on your way to see the Forbidden City and Tianmen square.

Visited this area in mid May 2015. It is a fantastic inexpensive area to spend a couple of hours taki ng in the site, the people and the hustle and bustle of Beijing. Well worth a look.

A gigantic road structure cutting the historical city entirely in half, partly at the place of the old city wall, destroyed in the '50s. Nothing to see, really.

This is the main street which runs alongside Tianan'men Square and we found it fascinating to watch. Depending on how the traffic lights are showing, the street can vary between a wide empty area, to numerous lanes of busy traffic. At night it is well light and seemed to be even more exciting. The highlight for us was watching two... More
