Everything I read about Shijingshan leading up to the trip was about how it is an absurd ripoff of Disneyland. As an amusement park fan, this is the reason why I went. I think this characterization is a bit off. Yes, there is a big castle, but Lotte World has a castle that is more similar to Disney's. Outside of that, I didn't really pick up on the copyright infringement wonderland claims. Otherwise, the park is pretty decent. This is a heavy local park and you won't find any tourists here. The park was pretty dead when I visited on an April Sunday as opposed to Happy Valley. The rides and attractions are definitely second tier, but there are many of them and they are pretty funny. The park is home to a Tagada ride (look it up on YouTube), which is the highlight of the park. Otherwise, there are some fun dark rides and walkthroughs. All that being said, this should be a stop for amusement park lovers only. Other tourists likely will not be amused. You don't need a full day for this if you do decide to go. Maybe 3 hours or so.

In a nut shell, if you are a theme park fan and especially a Disney Fan, do check this lace out only if you have time. We spent about five hours on a cold dry Winter day and many attractions were closed. But to walk around and see the familiar Disney icons was priceless. This is the theme park that was featured on the media (youtube) for copying Disney,Hello Kitty, and other theme parks. Jones Adventure anyone?
Don't expect Disney style attractions and experience or else you will be disappointed.
You pay a small entrance fee to get in (10 yuan + 2 yuan for a map). Then each ride cost 5-50 Yuan each by buying a ticket near the entrance to each attraction. You will need a ticket for each attraction you want to ride! I am not sure if they have an all day pass. Think of the E-Ticket system Disney used to do back in the early 80s. The park is divided in two parts separated by a railroad line. To acces the other side of the park you will need to cross the tracks (there are guards making sure you cross safety) or cross the tracks using the London bridge (3 flight of stairs going up and then down) No elevators or escalators here! I have included pictures on this review as that will give you an idea of this park.
Hint - if you are taking the subway, take the Line one to Bajioa Amusement Park (Pingguoyuan direction). Exit and cross under the expressway (watch for cross) and the theme park is to you right. Head back to Central Beijing, the entrance to the subway is across the street where you exited! We entered the same place and was told there is no access to Central Beijing and instead need to cross the tracks. To do so you can take the next train and take it to the end of the line (two stations away) and cross the tracks there. This station lacks the crossover for passengers. IF you don't want to do that you can exit, cross the street, and pay again.
We found a Carrefour supermarket one long block east of the station - FYI

Call it a rip-off of Disney all you want, I had a blast. Its surprisingly big and the rides were awesome! Despite having spent half a day at the park, it was not enough to go on more rides. Also, bring in about 200 yuan if you visiting this place. Every ride needs at least 20 or more (for some)
Only thing i didn't like? Was the smell of smelly toufu lingering around, thank god it was only at one part (corner part) of the whole place. Oh and you gotta wait in line for rides for quite a long time. But the longest I've waited was about half an hour, so wasn't entirely thaaaaaat bad. (even tho I'm an impatient person)

We decided to go to Bajiao Amusement park on a Tuesday as we thought it would be quiet and also very convenient being the 3rd last stop on Subway line 1.
We arrived at 9am and it was like it was closed, we payed our 10 yuan admittance and went in OMG it is like it is abandoned!! Not cared for rundown, horrible.
We walked around looking for rides, majority were closed, the ones that were open were kiddy rides, after about an hour some other rides started to open up,and we went on a couple and we were literally the only 2 on the rides, and u pay as you go,between 10 and 50 yuan per ride.
It was like nobody wanted to let u on their ride,I got told I was too tall twice and im 197cm not 207cm,i have never been told i cant ride because of my height. Not an English speaking friendly park at all,we were the only 2 non Asians in the park, which isnt a problem its just not meant to be visited by English speaking people.

I never thought an amusement park (that is open) can be bad, but this actually felt like being in an abandoned amusement park. Almost freaky! It felt like two sections to this park, the part we entered first was absolutely abandoned, all rides were closed. Then we walked up the steps to the other section, and began to see some people, which was a relief. Even there, only few rides were open. At least we weren't ripped off as we pay for each ride. The staff are not friendly, cant speak English and pretty much stare at you. It was convenient to get to the park using the subway but not worth it at all. We did not spend more then 2 hours there. If you would like to see what an abandoned park looks like, you might want to give it a shot.

We went there off-season and found that most of the rides were closed. Most of the open ones were not so interesting, but it was okay because we had a toddler that can't go on those thrilling rides anyway. We went to the section for the little kids and had some fun, but felt quite ripped off as to the fact that we had to pay per person per ride around RMB20 (yep, even the kids' price is the same!), after paying the entrance ticket (which is not that expensive). Some rides worth the price, some rides are so short, boring and so so that it's not worth paying!
Most of the rides are old, they really need a major re-lift and cleaning up the park; repainting the rides would be a start!
It's a huge themed park and it's quite impossible to go around the whole place in one day with a toddler! Sadly, they don't offer any buggy rides, though we see staffs riding them a lot! There is a shortcut bridge to go from the south end of the park to the north end, but you have to climb a whole lot of stairs and with a baby stroller, there's no way you can climb those stairs carrying it. So, not really stroller/wheelchair friendly.
I'd suggest you bring your own food. We ate lunch there and it was so crap and expensive, we just ate because we were hungry… If we knew it'd be disappointing, we'd eat in one of the restaurants nearby the area.
There's a parking lot close to the south end entrance (not sure about the north end) and the price is not a killer either.
Overall, I'd say it's okay, just don't put your hope to high that it'd be something like Disneyland.

We visited here with low expectations after reading the other reviews online and said low expectations were duly fulfilled. IF you are going to the park expecting a fun day out at an amusement park, expect to be hugely underwhelmed. We saw maybe one in ten rides operational, the water features had all been drained and looked awful, the whole look and feel of the place was eerie and decrepit. At one point we genuinely wondered how they can charge people to enter. However, IF you are going to explore what looks like an old abandoned theme park; you'll have a great afternoon wandering around for a couple of hours. It's 10yn in and it felt almost post apocalyptic which makes for some great photos (that's why it got 2*!) but not in the traditional Disneyland sense.

I went here after reading about the previous problems concerning the copyright problems.
Well... Those copyright infringements are now almost all solved but you can still see some remnants). But anyway. Arriving you pay a small entrance fee (10rmb) and then it is pay per ride. Ranging from 10 RMB up to 60 for the rollercoasters. So in the end for the couple of hours I went there I spent about 400RMB which is quite a lot taking into account the state the park is in.
This is the biggest problem. The park is well past it's prime time. It used to be the place to go to. But nowadays with happy valley it has lost a lot of customers and now only some Chinese from outside of Beijing seem to visit it. Which makes it quite a foreigner free place where you can expect to get stopped now and then to get your picture taken as being a foreigner.
Now for the rides itself. Most of them are closed... really, I think more than half of them are closed and those that are still open seem to be in quite an appalling condition. Thus the rollercoasters aren't for the weak of heart at all. To be honest, After doing lots of crazy things in my life, a rollercoaster ride doesn't really excite me anymore. But here my heart was beating faster than ever. All that was rushing through my mind was, will this thing really kill me? Will this be the end of me? So for the thrill seekers this is a nice visit to make once.
The play hall part where you can waste your money shooting stuff and playing video games might be better to avoid. This is why:
- The laser guns are badly calibrated. I can proudly say that all similar games in China I wasn't allowed to play anymore after passing by becase they said they would go bankrupt as I kept winning the big teddybears. But here I only got a score of 94 where I normally always get 98+.
- spend 50RMB on coins and then noticed that a lot of the machines are broken down and so I ended up spending almost all at the shooting the hoop basketball games.
- Although I managed to get all highscores on the basketball games and getting a lot of "points" I still only got a very small reward (but this is typical for these kind of places). Here the biggest reward was that all the Chinese were looking full of admration how I was able to get such good scores.
- The games where you shoot at a screen like "terminator" are broken. Most of the times I couldn't reload or even aim at the enemy. So please avoid these, you might as well just go throw your coins at the screen.
- ...
There also was some animation for children on a kind of a stage. Seemed to be a harry potter spin off things involving bubble blowing.
When I left around 1pm I noticed some more rides were opening (log ride, etc.) I don't know why they weren't open before. But I did notice mechanics running around. Maybe these things are connected in some mysterious way.
In the end I really did enjoy myself although not a advisable place to go.

We went in November and only around 10% of the rides were open. The open rides were had to find. We spent more time with walking around the place than anything else. The water had been drained from all the rides and features, so it looked in disrepair. Virtually no one else was there, so it had an eerie ghost town feel to it. In summer I am sure it would have more life and be worth a visit.
