This is the second major gate in the south of the Forbidden City. Huge and impressive, this provides a great backdrop for photographs without too many tourists.

When visiting the Forbidden City this is one location that you may be able to get a tourist photograph without other tourists in it. Good luck.
By now we had crossed three imposing gates on entering Tienanmen Square, this just felt repetitive. Although the courtyard on both sides does give it a picturesque appeal which again is offset by the hoards of tourist.
More superb Forbidden City architecture, the size of this and other buildings take your breath away!
My recollection of visiting is that the correct name was Gate of Supreme Harmony. The first of many featured buildings as you enter the Forbidden City.
