Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

well, i don't know what i would say about it if i would talk of it as a mall...
it does have some shops that are interesting, but nothing that would make me traver from another part of Beijing just to shop.
however, as a part of a city....i just love it.
for me as a european, it was very interesting to see all of those modern chinese cultural differences.
a place where you could see a lot of chinese hipsters, a lot of young people wearing modern clothes (some traditional, too), people enjoying karaoke (chinese stile), cafe bar with cats, restaurnats with some nice traditional foot...
maybe i am under influence of my first visit of Beijing, but i must say that i love this part of the city more than Silk market, and many more places that most turist "have to visit".

It's a shopping center. May be a little far from the city center. But this is a source of teenagers. This side is focused on restaurants. There is also a souvenir shop. Across the road to the other side are some high-end brands. Recommended to come for a walk at night. There's a lot of food.

If you already decided to go to Beijing, I will highly recommend you the Sanlitun Soho which is a modern and amazing mall. I will suggest you to go there during the Spring Festival because there won't be too many people during that period. If you are lucky enough, you can watch the beautiful snowy scene too. The mall has many bars, restaurants and shops. You can have a good time walking there. The hotel near the mall is also great. Hope I can go to there again next time!
Tips:The winter in Beijing is COLD so don't forget to bring enough cloths with you!

As much as I like modern architecture and as much as I have been amazed by Beijing and especially Shanghai Sky Scrappers, Sanlitun was far from having the same effect on us.
The reason is probably because it is just a shopping area with modern stores and eateries, many from western chains like Addidas, Starbuck and so on and that we have enough of them in my country.
We came to visit China mainly for its traditional culture.
Of course, as I wrote, the modern buildings of Beijing and Shanghai were impressive, some of them even stunning but nothing exceptional here.
The prices are high, it was crowded and finaly it was really hard to find a cab...
If I wanted to see what Sanlitun has to offer, I could have stayed home and save me the 10 hours flight.
So look at the pictures the other reviewers have published ... and decide for yourself ... for us it was somehow a waste of time ...

For everyone who also feel enjoy in city-jungle. Beautiful place, a lot of bars and style shops (UNIQLO, Adidas, Apple etc). At the daytime you can have a good rest in one of the thousand high-quality restaurants. At the night - perfect bars. A lot of people and beautiful installation always can makes you happy

While there are a lot of restaurants and cafes at Sanlitun SOHO, it's definitely not a shopping mall, as there aren't very many shops (aside from a few big international brands like Adidas). That said, I do like the modern architecture of the buildings, and it's a nice place to wander around if you'd like to find a cafe.

2009 this was one of my favourite places in Beijing. The shopping was great, great bar street and good food to cheap prices. This is the third time I'm back here and I have to say I'm really disappointed with the "new" Sanlitun. Ever since they closed Yashow Market in 2015 there is no reason to go here any more. Everything is expensive, commercial and there's no soul left to this place anymore. And it doesn't help with rude staff in restaurants and shops. Sorry guys, the glory days of Sanlitun are over.

Just another westernized shopping mall in the city. Nothing interesting with strange mixture of shops. Seems to attract lots of Chinese youngster, but just strange overall. Doesn't fit into either cultural or shopping experience. Pricing of restaurant and shops are above average, and variety are very limited.

To begin with, Beijing is not much of a shopper's destination. But Sanlitun Soho is particularly boring. Nothing of interest, really. High prices and poor choices.

this is the "poor man's version of Sanlitun Village":
architectonically an interesting building complex, but as a mall/recreative place a total failure. most buildings are either empty or filled with useless cheap dirty shops.
Can't really find a reason why go there, seen there is absolutely nothing to see/do. even the bars/coffeeshop's owners seem jealous of it's colleagues of the Village.
