Been here twice. Wont go again, as the 2 times ive been it was too busy. Locals and tourists. Still a lovely place but if you had a choice go to Mutianyu. Visit March 2015

When in Beijing, it is indeed the priority on to do list. It is though very crowded, specially on the weekend, so i will suggest going there on weekdays.

We climbed to the very top and the views were amazing.The first few levels were the worst to climb as the steps were quite steep but it got easier nearer to the top.It was well worth the climb.

Our trip to Badaling was organised with a company called 'Travel China Guide'. We have used them on two trips as you can tailor your requirements with them. Various hotels in Beijing also have tours to this part of the wall.

you can take the public bus 877 from jishuitan station. it is easy and cheap. but it will drop you at the back if the greatwall where u can take a rolkercoaster like train ride up. please read my post on the details to avoid... More

The actual least popular time is late afternoon the most popular time is 10 am to 3 pm anything before or after is good
