This section of the wall is well worth the trip, and I strongly recommend this place in addition to Mutianyu Great Wall. Picking one over the other is nigh on impossible, as the experience differ greatly. Some of the views here are mesmerizing, and some sections of the wall are not maintained, which provides you with a slightly different experience than the more commercialized sections. I paid 43 RMB in entrance fee. I met some other tourists who had not paid an entrance fee because they entered the wall from a different place. The guards here, however, ask for your ticket multiple times to ensure you've actually paid, so keep that in mind. Also note that there's a lot of steep stair climbing involved. The guards and the people at the ticket office did not speak any English. It's easy to find your way around, and it's not necessary to travel with a guide or a group. There's also very few people on this section.…

We have already been to the usual touristy places and wanted something more special and less crowded. This private day tour is exactly what we expected. We had the guide, Storm Li all to ourselves and he made the tour interesting with his stories and experiences. It was a very enjoyable scenic journey and the best part was the entire Great wall was empty, only us. We did not have to fight with hordes of tourists to take a nice picture. Afterwards we stopped at a Granny Farmer's place for dinner and the food was amazingly fresh and yummy. Much better than what you would get at the restaurants in Beijing city.It was definitely worth it. Storm was very accommodating and allowed us to customize the journey to suit our travel needs. …

This was a most uncomfortable trip! The guide put his arm around me, told me that I was sexy when we were on a remote part of the wall and tried to bring the conversation around to sexual subjects in the car on the way back. I was totally reliant on him to get me back to the airport so there wasn't much that I could do about it except hope that he wouldn't try to take it further. His driving was dangerous, he drove far too fast and weaved in and out of the traffic. We narrowly missed one crash and came close on a couple of other occasions; it was scary. We didn't visit all the places that were included in the tour and, because of his sleazy behaviour, I didn't follow up on these even though I'd been really looking forward to them. We didn't stop for water and snacks as mentioned in the itinerary, instead we went to the guide's aunt's place where I was offered tea (which I don't like), juice (which I don't normally drink) and roasted chestnuts. The guide ate and drank much more than me and family members came round and stared at me while all conversing in Chinese. We went back there for lunch, it was delicious but I wasn't hungry and I had to pay 80 yuan for a meal I didn't want and once again the guide did most of the eating. On the way back I was taken to a factory and shop. This wasn't my choice, I've seen this sort of factory before and wasn't prepared to buy. The guide also tried to sell me an extra tour, and at the start he wasn't waiting where he said he'd be so I waited around for 15-20 minutes before he found me. The sections of the wall we visited were great, but the village was a waste of time as I just sat in the rather shabby garden while the guide talked to his family in Chinese. The tour was booked with Storm as the guide, but he didn't actually confirm that was his name. However I recommend caution for women booking this tour alone, and all concerned with road safety.…

i was v v worried about climbing the Great Wall Of China, but my Thomas Cook guide assured me that it is not so bad n that we can back off when ever we felt like.so a few of us climbed to its base found a seat under a shade n saw the others venture to greater highs.U have to have strong legs to climb the ancient stone uneven steps but the scenery is spell-bounding.A visit to china is incomplete without a visit to the great wall…
