When we visited in April, the tulips were in full bloom. The botanical garden was very accessible by train and though it was drizzling during our visit, we enjoyed walking around the park wearing raincoats and using our umbrellas. Did get a little chill from the rain, but nothing serious. Looking at the many varieties of colourful tulips really made our visit memorable.

Very large botanical garden accessible via bus, hard to reach by subway. Cheap entry (10 yuan, 5 yuan for concessions).

We wanted to get out of the city and chose the Botanical Gardens as a getaway. It took us 3 hou to get there, though some of that was due to an incorrectly placed metro station on the online map we were using. The bamboo garden was nice. Other than that the gardens were quite plain - time of year really. As UK passports it easy free for us, including the glasshouse. Just as well really as the glasshouse was not that good.

A huge garden. Annuals, perennials, many roses though they were mostly in between bloom cycles. Immense fields of orange cosmos. Very lovely spot. Immaculately maintained. Worth a trip if you like flowers
