Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Arrived with 40 mins to spare before train left - thought that would be plenty of time - ohhh no. Just 5 mins before my train was due to leave I get to the front of a queue to be told - wrong station - u need Beijing West. Just please be warned go collect your ticket a day ahead at least. We lost $750 on this after we were told - sure u can change it and nope u obviously can’t.
Just working out where to go and collecting your ticket and then getting to the correct platform would take well over an hour as each area of the station has separate lines. Arrive early and check which station before u leave your hotel!!!!

We travelled to Xi’an on the high-speed train. It took about 5.5 hours.
We needed to produce our passports, same as at airport. Our check in was a little slow , all bags had to go through the scanner , if you had any aerosols in your bag , the bag had to be opened and checked.
The station was huge , modern and clean.
There is plenty of places to purchase food, even Maccas and Kentucky fried.
Very good bathrooms and even Western toilet
Travelling by the train , allowed wonderful views of the country side

I arrived in Beijing from Ulaanbaator by train at the main Beijing railway station. You would imagine that the station would have a number of ATMs for all those arriving tourists.
You’d be entirely wrong. There is not a single ATM in China’s capital city’s main railway station.

Having taken overnight trains all over the world I was looking forward to Shari g our first class cabin experience with my family!!
Euccchhhh!
Pubes and ash in the beds!
Our room right beside the toilet which had no spring shut door so it BANGED all night.
The ashtray was under the no smoking sign right outside our door!!!!!! So much for a nonsmoking sleeper!!
Can’t stress enough how bad this experience was! NEVER TAKE OVER NIGHT TRAINS IN CHINA
