Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Torry is a true ambassador not only for Beijing, but also for China. I took the Tiananman Square, Forbidden City, and Temple of Heaven Day tour with Torry and it was absolutely outstanding! She greeted me in the lobby of the hotel with a huge smile and the entire tour she was outgoing, friendly, professional, and a great guide. She takes pride in what she does and she wants everyone that’s on her tour to truly understand Chinese history, Feng Shui building, the significance of colors, the royalty and the various dynasties, and how all of that plays a role in China today. The place she picked out for lunch was beyond amazing and I was the only Westerner in the restaurant, which tells me it’s authentic and where all of the locals go. The driver was also very professional and nice and I never felt unsafe as he drove through the crazy Beijing traffic. If you come to Beijing, make sure you tour with Torry. You will not regret it!!"

I booked this private and customizable tour for myself and my husband. We opted to see the major sites, have lunch, and see some other sites that Dean thought might be interesting. We explained to Dean in the beginning that we are fast tourists and don't need to dwell...just the best of the best would do for us. Dean understood and kept us at a fast pace through the very crowded major sites. He explained the highlights and answered any questions we had. He was very personable and we shared a lot of laughs with him. I would highly suggest this tour and Dean as your tour guide...you won't regret it!!!

Had a great guide called Dean who was very informative and helpful whilst on our tour. Unfortunately Forbidden City is closed on Mondays (which we didn’t realise before hand) but Dean took us to the Lama Temple with the amazing tallest Buddha in the world.

Don’t do it! If we could put zero we would.
They never showed up at our hotel to pick us up. We called and they said they would be there right away. An hour later we called again and were told they were not coming because they had forgot to put
It done when booked 6 months in advance. Go to Beijinger Kitchen. AMAZING experience.

Hi Madam, I originally don't want to write anything for this review, because we have always been apologized to you all the time and we always said that is our fault for all this what happened to you. We have already full refunded to you at the first minute, and you ever submitted one bad review for us on Viator, but it is so surprised that you submitted another bad review on Tripadvisor, this is really amazing that we don't know how to comfort your bad feel and what can we do to make you feel better, please let us know, Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Really enjoyed this experience. Visiting the market was educational - not mind blowing - but really interesting as to what parts of vegetables are used for what, etc. The cooking portion of this class was a great opportunity to learn how to make a variety of dumplings. Great flavors. I look forward to sharing my new recipes with my family! Also, bring a container for possible leftovers and come hungry! Only downside was that I visited in October and the kitchen was unheated and quite cold.

4 unforgettable days. We were back from Europe and planned 3 nights to stop in Beijing. To us China has always been a mystery. The country has achieved so much in a very short period of time.

What we saw was amazing. The people, food, traditions, safety. The only way to dive in more is to get a tour with the local. Thats how we met Dean Wu. We have spent the whole day with him on our private tour around Bejing.

Having been on all the five continents, it was amazing. He was very punctual and driver was ready. His knowledge of the history and traditions, friendliness was second to none. We saw so many places that people usually don't see. We even went overtime and that was not a problem. Being in China, there is a huge language barrier, but his English is perfect.

We want to go back to see more of this wonderful country full of traditions that go back 5000 years ago.

Thank so much, Dean. I have got your number. You will be first one to know when we plan to get back to the country that has blown off our mind.

Looking forward to seeing you again.

Combining shopping at the neighborhood market with cooking delicious lunch dishes made for a great experience. The instructor made learning Chinese cooking a memorable and very enjoyable way to spend time in Bejing.

This was a wonderful morning. Zhou Chao was most welcoming to the 6 of us and our market tour was very educational. The walk through a hutong area to and from the markets was also interesting. The kitchen was clean, the instructions and demonstrations were clear and we ended up with a very delicious lunch.

Although the sites were historical and the history mesmerizing, the actual highlight of our tour was Torry, our tour guide. She was energetic and enthusiastic. Her English was superb, and my entire family made a personal connection which was memorable and enlightening. Pick up and drop off was punctual and reliable. The best part of the whole tour was Torry educating us about daily life in China. This tour is a must in Beijing. Take water in the summer, but there is lots available to buy. I suggest this as a first day tour in Beijing as the jet lag can be miserable, and you do not have to go far, and can get back to your hotel easily (as long as the drivers in Beijing don't kill you.)
