We stopped here on our last day in Kenya, because it was on the way to the Convention Center. We walked around for a little bit checking out some really cool stores, and were surprised at the array of merchandise available here.
Our primary purpose was to have a light lunch. Although, there were many restaurants and several options, we were happy with our choice of “Java House”.
The rest of the Mall was spacious, the restrooms were super clean, and we left assured that most people’s needs would be met here.

If U R homesick for the Edmonton Mall (the world's largest) or the Mall of America (#2), then this is an OK place to visit. If you want to visit Africa this is not the place.

A large French supermarket chain has a large supermarket on site and there are other smaller food stores you can access. Phone shops (for sims), banks, ATMs, cafes, clothes, safari gear, souvenirs, in fact if your self catering (or even if you’re not) its a good place to stock up at or to take a break
It’s well connected at a main crossroads on the Langata road and well known to the taxi drivers. Car park was busy but there were always spaces.

This place should be avoided at all costs. Our guide insisted we stop here for the amazing gift selection even after I told him we would rather not. Everything ir priced triple of what you can get elsewhere. Margin hard and only pay 30-40% of the tagged price. even then watch out as they try to scam you at the check out counter. I was presented with a bill for $100us but then the card slip was run for $200us when I pointed this out the said it was just a mistake and they would fix it. I refused until they ran the card again. Upon getting home, guess what... both charges are on my statement. I then realized why the guide likes it so much as I witnessed him getting a kickback from the cashier. Do not shop here just look at the various items...Oh was the ebony is not real!

We are sorry about your unfortunate experience at the Craft / Masai Market. We would appreciate the contact of the Driver, if possible, to start an investigation that involves law enforcement. We will inform the Management of the Mall complex to issue out a warning to the Masai Market vendors immediately.

Given recent events in Nairobi, security at shopping malls is a major concern. In this context, the bizzare antics of staff theoretically in charge of security at Galleria mall is worrying to say the least. The erratic behaviour of security guards employed by Tandu Alarms Services Ltd., who should be checking vehicles for dangerous materials but instead prefer to roam about the parking lot harassing customers, shouting, arms flapping about wildly and eyes completely bloodshot, has made several of us question their sobriety.
Perhaps, the Galleria management may want to consider employing the services of a truly professional security company, there are many in Kenya to choose from. Ideally, such a company would use some form of drug testing and psychological screening to ensure staff are able to perform their duties, for the safety of paying customers and society at large. The behaviour of the current guards, including shoving mall customers while shouting at them, may be indicative of a serious subatance abuse and/or untreated mental health issues. In the short term, of course, this will make many shopper steer clear of Galleria. In the long term, the danger is ill intentioned people and organisations may catch on to the fact that, unlike other shopping malls in Nairobi, there is no professional-level security provided at Galleria on Langata Road.
I would advise all to avoid this location if possible.

Of all Nairobi malls, this one stands out for having 5 ATM machines downstairs, which somehow manage to be simultaneously out of cash on most evening. Not always though, sometimes they may have cash but they're sjust out of service or under maintenance. Other than that, the mall is a generally depressing place created by a misanthropic architect

Galleria Shopping mall is ideal for tourists as it offers both Kenyan and exotic shopping experience. It has a vast array of restaurants ranging from Chinese,Indian to traditional Kenyan cuisine. The shopping mall is also very safe and has a place for Kenyan traditional artifects which l think are a bit pricey though. You would be much safe and better if you search for a Masai market for your Kenyan gifts.

The Galleria Mall was a pleasant experience for a variety of reasons. The Java House Cafe had good food at reasonable prices, the frozen yogurt store reminded us of home (in the USA), and the Walmart like grocery/appliance store (I forget the name) was a great place to find just about anything. There was also a little market for crafts. If you have time to kill and want a secure westernish experience away from crowded streets, a couple hours at this mall should do the trick.

It's a mall. Yes, it's the nicest one you'll find in Nairobi, but it's still a mall. It reminds me of the Galleria chain I've seen in Texas, only with African stores. I looked around but left soon as I didn't come to Kenya to go to a mall! Anyway, you can find excellent bargains at the center markets if you feel safe enough to go there. I really came in just to use the ATM as I had been told it was quite a secure ATM (as opposed to using ATM's located on the open streets).
