Travel to Africa in pandemic times were smoothly and safe with Dan.
We landed in Nairobi, stayed a night before our driver picked us up the next day to start our Safari. We first went to Amboseli for 2 nights, and 6 in Masai Mara. After the safari ended we were driven back to a hotel near the airport for our late night flight to our country. The land cruiser was very comfortable and there were only 2 of us plus the driver so we had lots of room.
Amboseli was amazing, Kibo safari Camp is a very nice camp, with excellent food and very good service. Our guide Obadiah exceeded our expectations and Amboseli is really a place to return.
The food and accomodation were also really great in all locations. On Mare we were at the Oldarpoi Wageni Mara camp located in the middle of a private conservancy called Nashulai. Masai warriors guarded the camp at night and escorted us to our rooms and the tents are really cool. We could hear all the Wild sounds at night. During the day we were able to spend all day on Masai Mara taking our photos and enjoying.
Even in this hard pandemic times we felt in safe hands and that Dan was well connected and organised enough to resolve any problems that could arise.
I would highly recommend using Real Masai Safari Tours for any safari holiday you are planning, they are reliable, professional and very well connected.

We had such an unforgettable experience in such a short time (9 days). Feeling like we spent 3 months cruising in the Ngorognoro and the Serengeti with Alfa our top guide, spotting wildlife (see pics) and then relaxing on an amazing white sand beach of Zanzibar or visiting Stonetown...
Thank you Dan Galati for the perfect organization

Real Masai Safari gave us an amazing experience for a week long trip in Masai Mara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Dan was very professional, responsive and arranged some very experienced guides on both sides of the border. Would highly recommend!

I expected to see animals but I did not expect to see that many, that close and doing those things. This adventure surpassed my expectations. We had 2 fabulous and knowledgeable guides (Nelson and Dan) and another driver who were so friendly and helpful it was amazing. They knew their way round the game parks and where to find the animals. We saw a new born giraffe, lions feasting on prey, crocs taking wildebeest from their crossing attempts, a baby rhino and mum, leopards with their kill up a tree, lions stalking their prey the list goes on. To say "we saw the big 5'' is to would be an insult as we saw that and so much more. The birds were also an unexpected feature, not just vultures but so many beautiful and varies species. We did a 2 week tour covering 3 major parks and a few lesser ones that rounded out the experience. As well as the parks we also visited a couple of native villages but stayed away from the big cities, perfect. Our time in the Maasai Mara was a highlight both with the accommodation and animals. While much of our accommodation was first class the place in the Mara was the best as the staff and interactions with them was so genuine and true to the spirit of the place. This is a trip for the animal lovers, do it.

We always wanted to go on a Safari, thinking South Africa was the only place to go. We met Dan coincidentally from Real Masai Safari. We knew after meeting him we had to do our Safari through Real Masai Safari company and see what a REAL safari would be like in Kenya. The Safari was an unreal experience. We landed in Nairobi, stayed a night before our driver picked us up the next day to start our Safari. We first went to Samburu for 2 nights, 1 night in Lake Naivasha and 3 in Masai Mara. After the safari ended we were driven back to a hotel near the airport to freshen up for our late night flight to our next country. The land cruiser was very comfortable and there were only 2 of us plus the driver so we had lots of room. The accommodation we stayed in throughout the trip always had welcoming staff and they would go above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. All essential amenities were provided. The rooms were always clean and mosquito free as they would spray our rooms before bed time and all beds have nets to keep the mosquitos away.At two of our destinations we stayed in 'luxury' tents. They were stable, fixed tents with flooring, showers, hot water, toilets and comfortable beds. The food was always cooked fresh everyday with lots of variety. Bottled water was always available. Our guide and driver Ole was skilled and experienced. He knew where to go and at what times for us to experience the best game drives we could. In saying that, there was only two of us in the land cruiser so we were able to customise our trip with him, choosing when we would go out for our game drives. We were lucky enough to see a massive variety of animals including; lions (male, female & cubs), hyenas, cheetahs, leopards, hippos, giraffes, baboons, monkeys, wildebeest, elephants, eagles, zebras and more. Be prepared to get dusty and sweaty at times. Wearing shorts was fine, or tights, black socks and joggers are ideal.Dealing with Dan from Real Masai Safari was a breeze, with endless emailing back and forth, Dan would always answer any questions we had. We highly recommend booking with Real Masai Safari as you will not be disappointed and your safari experience will be one you will never forget with these guys.If you are planning a safari trip and want to see a variety of animals in their natural habitat then look no further, give Dan a call from Real Masai Safari to experience a REAL & RAW experience!

Having already travelled twice to Africa, I was keen to go again and share my love of this amazing continent with my 75 year young mum. While searching online I came across Real Masai Safari Tours who seemed to cater to our needs. Dan was quick in response to email requests and accessible via phone and also put us in touch with a great travel agent to organise flights. A particular aspect of Real Masai Safari Tours that appealed to me in the first place is that business partners Nelson Ole Reiyia (Masai) and Dan Galati (Australian) are devoted to wildlife conservation and Masai Community initiatives. This was seen in action throughout the trip. Nelson has set up a conservancy just outside the gates of the Masai Mara which involves and benefits the local community.
And the verdict of this trip? Africa third time around didn’t disappoint.
Animals galore. Lions, leopards (my favourite), cheetah, elephants, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, antelope, buffalo, black and white rhino, hyenas, baboons, warthog, dik-dik, impala, hippos, jackals, topi, ostrich, monkeys……… you name it we probably saw it. I am someone who would be happy to sit for hours just watching the wildlife and there were ample opportunities to go on both morning and afternoon safaris. So many awesome animal experiences but two stand out. The first is getting charged by an elephant and the second is realising we were surrounded by sleeping lions which we hadn’t seen due to the height of the grass.
One of mum’s favourite experiences was camping beside the Sand River and hearing the sounds of the wildlife during the night. This was her first camping experience ever and one she is sure to remember. I highly recommend taking this option if it is available.
Dan is a very talented wildlife photographer who was very patient with me as I asked plenty of questions to try and improve my shots and he even shared one of his lenses. Dan offered to share his pics with us upon return to Australia and, true to his word, we met up for a coffee and I made a selection of pics. This was really appreciated.
Were there any challenges about the trip? Probably, but nothing huge. Like any group travel, we had a diverse range of personalities, including a high maintenance couple. This became tiresome at times but Dan and Nelson did their best to cater to everyone’s needs. Also be aware that some travel days can be very long and comfort can vary depending on the particular vehicle and the state of the roads.
A very big thank you to Dan and Nelson for an amazing experience that mum and I were able to share together. I’m already keen for African trip #4.

This was an experience of a lifetime and would highly recommend, The lodges provide an array of accommodation from basic to luxury but all goes with the experience, we did camp on the banks of the Sand River along with Lions, Crocs and Elephants for one night, the Masai warriors were amazing they had the best commercial kitchen happening, kettle boiling, fresh pancakes and oil frying chips for breakfast in the wild. We travelled far and wide from Tanzania border, to Rift Valley to Amboseli and beyond, truly amazing saw all animals in their natural environment including the big seven and more, the locals were always friendly and happy to share stories couldn't have been more accommodating, food was good, wine available and plenty of African dancing. The photo opportunities endless, our drivers were the best knew all the good spots and even sang for us , if this is the trip you thinking of go go go you will never regret it,

Thank you for your Review.
We are most pleased to hear that your trip was an experience of a lifetime and that you highly recommend it.
Our vision is to provide life changing experiences in the wild and our team gets a great boost when we read such feedback. Our overnight camping at Sand river is very unique, so we are glad to hear you loved the pancakes and the make shift Kitchen led by the Masai warriors. We dont send our drivers to singing school, but glad their singing pleased you. Thank you once again for choosing Real Masai Safari tours.

I have nothing to say but thanks for the wonderful time spent in Kenya. Dan organized the best trip for us and we really spent a marvelous couple of days at Oldarpoi camp in the Maasai mara.
The room was amazing, the food was delicious, and most important the people that work there are very kind.
I definitely recommend this, because it was the best trip of my life

My Husband and i did a 12 day best of Kenya tour with Real Masai safari in March this year.
This was our first trip to Africa and we were simply blown away by the experience.
We were initially undecided whether to visit South Africa or Kenya, but upon speaking with Dan prior to booking, we were told we would be lucky to see lions in Kruger and that kenya has a dense Lion population. He was not wrong! We saw lots of Lions on just about every game drive and we counted over 50 lions in just one afternoon game drive in Masai mara alone. We came to see the Lions and we were not disappointed.
The 12 days is just perfect amount of time and each place we visited was diverse with different landscapes. We also got too see Mt Kilimanjaro which was always my dream to see. Dan and his business partner Nelson are so helpful and knowledgeable and we had such a great time with them. There was a fair bit of driving from each destination but it was good to see the Kenyan wilderness and pass by Mount Kenya and the Great Rift valley, it was so beautiful.
The accommodation was very luxurious and of high standard at each destination. We especially loved Kibo at Amboseli and Samburu intrepids.
Our tents were just amazing.
The food excellent at each place we visited which was surprising as we didnt know what to expect when it came to food.. There was definitely over supply of food and each game drive we took we ate in the reserves.
Although we missed out on the wildebeest migration, there was not many people in the parks and we got to see the animals up close.
My husband and will definitely return back to Kenya one day it was such a great experience and we would like to see the wildebeest migration.
I can’t recommend real Masai safari tours enough.
Thanks again guys!

The real Masai safari company was absolutely wonderful! Our guides Nelson, Dan and Cosmos were so knowledgable and welcoming. My favourite part of the trip was staying in the Oldarpoi Mara Camp as the staff there were fabulous and friends I have made for life. Whilst at this camp we did day trips into the Mara where the wildlife was spectacular! I wouldn't change a thing about this trip as it exceeded all my expectations! Wish it never ended!
