What surprised me most was the run-down area that surrounds the pyramid. The streets are full of garbage and there is a Kentucky Fried Chicken literally across the street from this ancient wonder of the world. BUT - once you are inside the protected area - it's incredible. I was surprised at how many people were climbing the pyramids and... More

The best thing to see in Egypt is the Pyramids. We went by Metro from Tahrir Square to Shohaada Metro Station by paying only 2 pounds. Then we took a public transport from Shohada to the Pyramid location. It costs only 2 pounds. Then walk up to 300 metres. The price of the ticket is 80 pounds for the foreigners.... More

Although, the 3 Great Pyramids were visible during the day from our Le Meridien Hotel in Giza, it was something else to view the splendid structures up close. Also impressive was the sound & light show we witnessed the night before.

Marvellous advantage point. But note I found it difficult to see the screens on my camcorder and phone. Maybe that's just me.

We were picked up from our hotel in Cairo in a car and taken to the airport to take our flight to Luxor. Our guide, Shimia, greeted us in Luxor after landing and began our journey. We visited The Temple Karnak, Luxor Temple and Hatshepsut Temple which were all different and amazing to see with well preserved details and painting... More

The place was amazing.. seeing the pyramids closely was a terrific experience, specially when you start to imagine how did ancient Egyptians build them. But please don't listen to any one from these idiots who will always ask you if you want to ride a horse or camel. These idiots are extremely annoying. Don't forget to visit King Khufo's Ship!... We went to inside for extra money, it was worth it just go in and feel the mystery of the pyramid. Stand by the huge rocks that looks impossible to move so high you will not regret for be back again.

This is a unique mind-expanding experience one cshoulkd know at least once in a lifetime. There are simply no words to describe one's feeling when reaching the Gizeh plateau. It is truly a trip out time/space dimension, almost a mystical experience.
