This was a great stop after visiting the Pyramids, we loved seeing Ramses II and then walking around the grounds.

Basically this is the building which houses the Ramesses II statue and is located on Memphis Historical Site. A Photo stop which can be missed as you will be done with the place in 5 minutes and Egypt has much more to offer.

Memphis, which means "beautiful city", was our first stop south of Cairo on that day when we saw the Giza Pyramids, Zoser's step pyramid in Saqqara, and the statues in the Memphis Museum. All of these sights were doable in 1 day. We were on a tour with Uniworld who took care of all travel details and guide. Driving for... More

I had visited this museum as part of my day tour to Saqqara, Dahshur, and the Giza Pyramids with a private guide. Most of the exhibits were outdoor. There is a large limestone statue of Ramses II in the main building and an alabaster Sphinx located outside. There were also numerous other statues and exhibits on display. There were signs... More

This was not a destination stop. We stopped here while traveling to several places throughout the day. The statue of Ramses II was interesting, as well as the sphinx. Other than a few more statues, there wasn't much to see here. Our stop here was about 30 minutes.

Generally a small museum contained in a little park outside. Some of the monuments contained within are very impressive though.

Really interesting visit as all there is to see in Egypt, however, you can skip this one if you are short in time.
