I found Dahshur to be very interesting. It is about an hour's drive out of the city (due to traffic) but well worth it. I felt like the only person there especially when compared to the crowds at Giza. I highly recommend a day of tours with Dahshur, Saqarra, Memphis and Giza.

Dahshur pyramid is unique and less crowded! I strongly suggest taking a guide to be less bored with local merchants which are often aggressive and understand these well preserved constructions. Good physical condition is required to get in

Not much to see except from the outside, but worth the visual. The drive to Dahshur is more interesting than actually getting there as you pass through what life along the rural Nile is actually like.

Unique pyramid that is further removed from city - less crowded than Giza pyramids, so fun to explore around it.

Whilst Saqqara had the first (stepped) Pyramid, the design was mastered at Dahshur. However, the site feels completely unspoilt and has less tourists than Giza and Saqqara - and a great opportunity to climb to the heart of the pyramid.

We visited Dahshur in June 2012 with our guide also included a trip to Sakkara. I loved the peacefulness of Dahshur, the solitude we felt whilst standing at the Bent Pyramid looking towards the Red Pyramid was very calming. We climbed up and down and then back up into the Red Pyramid and it was worth the sore legs! What... More
