I visited Bayt Al-Suhaymi and enjoyed every single minute there. I walked from Khan Al-Khalili all the way to the house and enjoyed the historical area in the middle. We looked at all the rooms, levels but sadly some of the suites were closed for renovation. Take your time to go around the place and get a guide to explain... More

The most relaxing spot in the busy streets of old Cairo. Once you get inside you'll forget whatever traffic/people outside of its walls. I love it there!

this house still has loads of beauty and is worth seeing. It is dusty and time has taken its toll, but still a good example of Islamic architecture.

One of the finest examples of historical Islamic houses. The house is situated in a small alley near Muiz street, the house is famous for its wooden balconies (Mashrabiya). Many classical rooms with arabic calligraphy and wooden panels. Must visit if you are interested in Arabic and Islamic architecture. Occasionally the house hosts some classical Egyptian music concerts.

Old house full of character and memories like something straight out of 1001 nights! We were lucky to go there with an Egyptian tour guide who told us all the history of the building.

Worth visiting as an example of houses of rich people in Islamic Cairo. The house has been restored and is open to tourists. It gives a good idea of the lifestyle at that time. The most impressive room in the house is the Haramlek, and the house keeper usually keep it closed to protect the ancient ceramic collection. They only... More
