    Underwhelming experiences
The place is easily accessible by subway and bus. Cannot missed it as there are clear directional signs along the way to the market. Was hoping and expecting see more activities or a variety of seafood but its seems most of the real actions are in early morning. Overall the trip was still enjoyable just lacks the authentic feeling of a real seafood wholesale market. Feels more like a live seafood restaurant where you pick your meal and then have it prepared. Most stalls are selling similar items like crabs, prawn and clams. Only a few stall offers unique seafood like urchins and uncommon fishes. As you move around from stall to stall. Everyone is keen to push a sale, so it can be quite annoying at times. We finally settled for a random stall and selected some shellfish, prawns and clams. Everything was bagged and we are brought to a restaurant on the second level to get our selection of seafood cooked for an extra fee. The most common recommendation on the way to prepare anything was steam or stir fry, and if you decide to grill there will be an extra charges. Overall the meal prepared was acceptable but nothing special. There are restaurants that are able to prepare the same ingredients in more tasty and creative manner. Not really a must to do list of places to visit in Seoul if on a short trip. But if there is time on hand and feels like having some fresh home cooked seafood, then this is the place to be.

Fresh seafood at very good price
Noryangjin is Korea's largest seafood market. Although a bit away from downtown, it is a popular place for both locals and tourists. There are long rows of seafood stalls that sell everything from fish to exotic shellfish. Picking the favorite seafood and having it cooked at one of the eateries upstairs is an ultimate Seoul experience. While cooking is more on the rudimentary side, price is simply dirt cheap. Highly recommended. P. S. it seems that a lot of conflicts are related to king crab. We did not order it and our guide helped us through everything from choosing seafood to ordering.

Not sure can rate since one and last time to Korea, price is out of expectation, expensive but fresh
Had red Alaska king crab at 110k per kilo with a broken leg, most vendor is 120k per kilo, told me it more expensive cuz lack of stocks and premium king crab. Cuz it's my first and maybe last time in Korea, accepted the price. Was initially expecting 40-60k per kilo but was told this pricing is normally for non crab period where crab meat are not at it's most optimal. The restaurant experience is better as it is clear pricing. Do note each entry will charge sitting charge which is 4k-6k depending whether u got order fish stew. Had 2kg king crab, 500gm of shell fish. All steam

Came back to Seoul after covid to enjoy the freshness of the sea, we bought them at good prices from the wholesale market but the nightmare came when we were brought upstairs to the restaurant for the cooking. We are aware that there will be a cooking fee for the service but we were not expecting one cooking fee for each type and per kg applies. Eg: one piece of fish, half cooked by steaming and the other by bbq. The charges for each method applies. See the new charging fees attached. Paid 87,000won for one fish, 4 pieces of medium size abalone, 4 pieces of mussels-like, and a handful of cockles. Cooking fees>>> 60,000won. Judge for yourselves if this worth it all!!!

Do read the negative reviews posted. This is worse than a tourist trap because the restaurants who prepared our crab and other items charged us $75 dollars and the crab- that came was overcooked. We suspect it was not the same crab we selected. The restaurant was not willing to communicate when we asked how much it cost to prepare the seafood and even though prices are listed on the board, they did not follow them. Very sad to experience this in Korea and the market consists mostly of Chinese sellers who speak Korean. I hope the review helps you steer clear of the market.

We went on a Wednesday morning to the Noryangjin Fish Market. It was not crowds and we really enjoyed our visit. You can purchase the fish on the ground floor (1st floor Korean naming convention) and it is prepared on the 2nd floor. It is absolutely impressive. On weekends it might be crowds.

Tourist trap!!! Fresh seafood and lots of it. Great selection but if you have it prepared at a restaurant upstairs, it’s outrageously expensive. Charge 30,000 wan to grill 4 prawns and way over cooked.
There only seems to be two ways to cook the seafood, steam or grill. Not much flavour. What a shame with all the seafood they have at the site!!
Cool place to visit but not eating there.

Everyone knows Tsukuji in Tokyo but Noryangjin is not so famous, but it should be. It is a vast fish market with tons of choice. One can buy seafood to take home or there is an option to get it prepared at a restaurant one floor up. Literally everything can be found here and super fresh, Definitely worth a visit!

Second time visiting this market, and first since since the post-Covid. Seafood selection was wide, with good price as we could make some bargains with the seller. The restaurant on 2nd floor, however, overcharged us. KRW31,000 for service fee and cooking fee. So unreasonably pricy!

Hmm.. fresh seafood. We were charged W78,000 cooking fee of 6pcs abalone, fish head stew, 1 cup rice, 4x pepsi. On top of that, we had to pay W80,000 for the fresh abalone and a plate of salmon sashimi. Total of W158,000. Too expensive.

This place is full of fresh seafood and the price is reasonable. But do check few stalls first before making your decision, stall owner will try to upsell you but you can just chill and slowly make your decision although they will get angry sometimes. Lol. I think is a must visit place if it's your first time to seoul.
