A large business hub, Samseongdong is anchored by Korea’s World Trade Center, where many important business exhibitions and meetings are held. The enormous COEX mall sprawls underground, providing a myriad of things to do and see, including a large aquarium and movie theater. For a bit of peace and zen, head over to the ornate Bongeunsa Temple which is one of Korea’s most important places of worship. Or take a stroll nearby through the tranquil royal burial grounds of Seonjeongneung, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

- Caroline1 contributionWhat a great experience!I visited COEX Aquarium in October. I came here on the recommendation of my friend, and it was a great experience. The performance show was very good, and the seal was so cute. The staff inside were kind and I enjoyed watching and comfortably.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 29 October 2023
- BulataiSydney, Australia203 contributionsEnjoyable aquarium experience. This aquarium is located in the Coex mall in Gangnam, Seoul. We enjoyed our visit - lots of Fish varieties we had never seen in other aquariums before as they are local to Korea and Asia. Displays are well organised and informative & my favourite section is the large tank where you can sit and watch the sharks, sting rays and schools of fish swimming around whilst listening to background music - very soothing. Exhibits were well displayed & children would enjoy it very much. Displays were quirky eg telephone box with fish swimming inside it. The Amazonia section was fascinating. There’s penguins, prairie dogs and manatees too. We spent about 1.5 hours here. It is quite deceptive in its size, as when you enter the aquarium there is a childlike vibe in terms of displays and colours. Then as you walk around there’s more and more displays and new creatures to meet. It’s a good place to visit especially if cold/ wet weather and need an indoor activity. Recommend as worth visiting.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 21 February 2024
- LornaKillarney, Ireland16 contributionsSuch an amazing experience! This aquarium is next level! I went with my friend, and we both loved it. When we got there, they took our picture, which was cute. They have SO MANY types of fish, frogs, creatures, you name it. The lego exhibition was pretty unique and well done, it made for some cool photos. We paid for food to feed the koi fish, and it was such a cool experience. We loved the praire dogs too, I wasnt expecting to see them there, so it was a very welcome surprise. I found it very accessible to english speakers. There are so many great places to take pictures here, be it with the fish or with your friends. You can take it at your own pace, and you never feel rushed, which is lovely. You're going to want to take your time to soak it all in.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 6 May 2024

It's been a while since I went to COEX Mall and visited COEX Aquarium. It seems like there is more to see than before. I had fun with my family from the entrance to the exit. You have to schedule the right time to see the performance at the right time. Next time, I'll have to check the performance time first. I wasn't able to see it this time due to lack of time, but I will visit again soon. Performance times vary on weekdays and weekends, so be sure to check.

Not a fan of aquariums but this one was really great! Huge variety of amazing fish is never seen before, very curious and strange aquatic creatures. Huge tanks so lots of room to see and makes me feel at least a little bit better about the fish being kept captive. It’s got a lot of crazy stuff to see and the price is worth it.

I was staying at a hotel near COEX Aquarium, so I decided to take a short walk there. Originally, I had plans to visit other places, but unfortunately, their tickets were sold out, so I ended up choosing COEX instead. When I went to purchase the entrance ticket, I was surprised to find out that they didn't accept cash, which I wasn't used to, so I had to use my credit card.
Upon entering the aquarium, my first impression was that the fish looked like toy fish, and I briefly questioned why I had paid for admission. However, as I continued through the exhibits, especially when I reached the piranha area, I started to see larger and more fascinating fish. Despite not typically being someone who enjoys visiting aquariums, I must admit that the experience turned out to be quite enjoyable.

It's been a while since I visited, but I think I enjoyed the visit thanks to Son Young's friendly guidance!
I think I enjoyed watching the program because they gave me information about the program viewing time.
Thanks to you, I will leave behind good memories.

I’ve been to many aquariums and thought this one was just okay. There were many families with small children and they were having a great time. There’s a lot of activities for kids . Interactive stations were cool. I went with my grown son and he didn’t enjoy it much. Definitely visit if you have small children. There’s a good variety of marine life. The layout of the place was great.

I took some time to go to the aquarium with my kids, and they loved it. I had experiences with various fish. He especially liked performing. The kids were making a fuss about taking pictures with the Little Mermaid. I took pictures, looked around, and had fun.
