- QW TeoSingapore, Singapore124 contributionsNice scenery with plenty of space to enjoyThe view was beautiful and there were plenty of space to move around and take photos. Love locks lined the railings and some of the love locks were quite old and rusty. We were very fortunate as it started to snow which we understood was quite rare for Seoul in mid November.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 19 November 2023

- pyt_go_girlCanadian Rockies, Canada169 contributionsGreat views and it's free except for the bus ride!Lovely park and a great view of the city. We took the bus I believe it was 1A after we rode the subway and it dropped us off at the view point and the views were great. I don't think it's necessary to pay to go up to the tower. There are really nice views from the park. From the viewpoint, you walk an inclined path to the main park area where there are even more views with restaurants and shops. We spent an hour max and rode the bus back down. Quite a relaxing day if you're not rushing f to go elsewhere. It was the last day of our trip after 5 days so it was a nice cap to our vacation.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 9 April 2024
- Duane BWest Des Moines, Iowa33 contributionsJust goI was not sure how good of a view there would be of the city but it's for sure worth your time going up. Take the cable car up, I dont think the views can get any better. If you are in Seoul it's a must. I didnt go up into Seoul Tower, I figured the views in the park would be better and save some money also.Visited April 2024Travelled soloWritten 27 May 2024

During October - Autumn I climbed to the top. Lot of stairs but great views during the way up. Do bring some water. The view on the top is almost 360 and you get a much better impression of the city. Took the cable cart down and walked through another park which has a part of the Seoul City Wall.

Beautiful (and free!) park to explore in Seoul. Can either take a cable car or walk (or take a bus?) up the beautiful road. Would recommend going early in the morning (at least in the summer) both to avoid the heat and because it's open before the more "classic" tourist attractions open.

This was a great alternative to taking the Namsan Cable Car. We enjoyed walking along the Seoul City Walls while checking out the great view of the city. Museum and displays along the way made it a worthwhile visit.

Great place for a good solid walk or a trail run. Heaps of climbing and lots of steps so be warned. The park sits between the city and the Namsan Tower and a walk to the tower through the park is perfect. Some fantastic views of the city and surrounds as you ascend and sunsets look great. You also walk next to parts of the Seoul City wall and good historic interpretation signage along the way. The vegetation is green and cool and lots of water features along the way. During the couple of weeks I was in Seoul I visited here a few times.

Namsan Mountain is a 878 feet -high peak in Jung-gu Seoul.
South Korea. Although known as Mongmyeoksan, in the past, it is now commonly referred to as Mt. Namsan. It offers some hiking, picnic areas and views of downtown Seoul's skyline. The North Seoul Tower is located on top of Mt. Namsan. The mountain and its surrounding area is Namsan Park, a public park maintained by the city government, which has panoramic views of Seoul. It is also the location of a smoke signal station called Mongmyeoksan Beacon Tower, which was part of an emergency communication system during much of Seoul's history until 1985. From 1925 to 1945 the Japanese Shinto shrine known as Chosen Jungu was situated on Mt. Namsan. There is alsop a cable c ar at Namsan

Namsan is the holy mountain of Seoul. At the heart of the Korean capital, it offers a convenient high point to check out Seoul's skyline as well as some lush space in the city center. A pleasant cable car ride offers an unparalleled panorama while more interested visitors can go up to N Seoul Tower.

Namsan Park is truly a special place in the center of Seoul.
You can reach it either on foot, by cable car or by bus and it offers a 360 degree view of the city.
There are also various cafes and restaurants to relax at near the Seoul Tower.

Hi, how much would it cost to take a taxi from Myeongdong Station to Namsan Park?
Written 27 April 2015
You don't take a taxi because the fee is expensive. You should take subway line 3 or 4 at Chungmuro station, go out of exit 2 to the right of Daehan Multiplex entrance - take the yellow bus 2 at the bus stop in front of the subway station - get off at the N Seoul tower bus stop
