No Shopping DMZ Half Day Tour from Seoul

124 reviews
Enjoy the highlights of the DMZ and get back to Seoul in time for lunch on a guided group tour. Listen to immersive commentary during visits to Imjingak Park, Dora Observatory, and other important landmarks. Have your camera ready for an unobstructed view of one of the world's most famous demilitarized zones. Best of all, this excursion does not include unnecessary shopping stops that other tours add on, which saves you valuable vacation time.

KTX trains are faster, convenient mode of transport between various cities in South Korea. I used the Ulsan-Seoul route and it took 2.5hours to reach and costed 53,500 won (Adult-economy class) one way. However, the tickets are heavy on the pocket for a common man. The train stations & trains are clean with the basic facilities for a passenger. Passengers expect a quiet atmosphere when travelling so be aware of your noise levels. Tickets can be bought either online via. website/mobile app or at the counter in the stations.

I was very pleased with my experience on the KTX from Seoul to Busan. The seats were comfortable and roomy with plenty of legroom. USB outlets in the walls allowed us to charge our devices. The backs of the chairs have fold-down tables and a little clip for propping up your phone. At the beginning of our journey, we were given a little goodie bag with nuts, a cookie, and a wet napkin. Very pleasant.

We bought the Korean rail Pass. It was difficult to use as several members of the KTX staff were not familiar with it. Try to make the reservations in advance or travel when there is not a holiday time. During the holidays, the trains are packed and you cannot find a seat. It is efficient. It is not as impressive as the trains in Japan. In addition, the Japan Rail Pass works much better.
