KTX trains are faster, convenient mode of transport between various cities in South Korea. I used the Ulsan-Seoul route and it took 2.5hours to reach and costed 53,500 won (Adult-economy class) one way. However, the tickets are heavy on the pocket for a common man. The train stations & trains are clean with the basic facilities for a passenger. Passengers expect a quiet atmosphere when travelling so be aware of your noise levels. I was very pleased with my experience on the KTX from Seoul to Busan. The seats were comfortable and roomy with plenty of legroom. USB outlets in the walls allowed us to charge our devices. The backs of the chairs have fold-down tables and a little clip for propping up your phone. At the beginning of our journey, we were given a little goodie bag with nuts, a cookie, and a wet napkin. Took the train to from Seoul to Cheon an. Train arrived on time and speed was pretty fast. The seats are comfortable and leg room adequate. The train is clean as well.

We bought the Korean rail Pass. It was difficult to use as several members of the KTX staff were not familiar with it. Try to make the reservations in advance or travel when there is not a holiday time. During the holidays, the trains are packed and you cannot find a seat. It is efficient. It is not as impressive as the trains in Japan. In addition, the Japan Rail Pass works much better.…
