The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
How to get there

Complimentary hanbok-fitting experience
Jan. 2017 • Couples
If you believe that it is a MUST to try out traditional costumes of the country you are visiting without burning a hole your pockets, this IS the place to come. Do note that this is only a FREE 10-minute indoor experience, bring your own cameras/selfie sticks! There are about two backdrops (see my photo). Approach other tourists for help to take full-body shots for you and get to meet new people too!

Attended for free hanbok testing
May 2015 • Family
This center is located at myeongdong which is very close to the Philstay Hostel I'm staying back then.

We were welcome in a good manner and wasn't crowded.

We had our free hanbok testing as well given 2 piece of hand coloured poscard for free!

However, during hanbok photo shooting. Please do prepared your gear well before photo shooting. As they only allocated 10-15 minute for photo shooting only.

Very small room and people never even greeted us?
Feb. 2016 • Couples
I read that this was a cool place to check out. We walked in the M Plaza and it is located in the 5th floor. We checked it out and it was situated in only one room. There wasn’t much to do at all and we left after 5 minutes. I couldn’t believe the people were just sitting there and didn’t even greet us. Maybe they were tired since it was around 5:30 pm, I’m not sure but we didn’t feel welcome. The place did have free Wi-Fi which was great for us since we didn’t have Korean sim cards and free Wi-Fi is pretty nice when in a foreign country. They have some classes for a nominal fee but they are at random times and we weren’t going to come back. If you are interested in their classes, I’ve posted some pics of the things they offer. Hope you have a better experience than we had.

Essential Tourist Information in Seoul
Jan. 2015 • Solo
Great first stop for tourists. The center has so many activities that tourists can try: e.g. trying hanbok, crafts, kpop dance, etc.

A good spot for tourists to visit in Myeongdong. You get to wear hanbok , get travel info , get free wifi access, interact with other visitors , what more can you ask for. Easily accessible and a good rest stop.

The Best Place for All Visitors to Seoul to Start~!
Apr. 2015 • Solo
Most foreigners will eventually end up in Myeongdong, but if you're smart enough to do a little bit of research, such as to read this review, you are in for a treat. The name doesn't do justice to the services they offer. The best attraction is the photo sessions wearing traditional Korean clothing, or hanbok. I think other places charge around $20 a shoot, but here, it's free. Oh, and because it's free, it's a bit difficult to squeeze into your day. I know. Go there first, sign up, go shopping and return. Ta-dah~! It's located smack in the middle of Myeongdong so it's easy to find. The easiest point of reference is Forever 21. They're always doing all sorts of arts and crafts to promote Korean Culture. They even have cooking classes that they subsidize so it only costs $10. All of their activities are on their fb page at... https://www.facebook.com/Seoulcenter3789?fref=ts
