Our cooking class (cooKorean) brought us to the market as part of the experience. We liked it here, as you can see this is very residential area and frequented by locals (not tourists). The prices were affordable and there is a large variety of meats, vegetables and cooked food. Really wanted to try the kalguksu, but we were short of time. Next time perhaps.

Forget the busy and crowded Gwangjang market. Mangwon market is the trend now. I grabbed my breakfast and dinner here for 3 days. The food here is cheaper than Gwangjang market and owner are more friendly. Though choices might be smaller but it is better to be local than tourist market. Long operating hours so you cna always pop in for some food.

Lots to see and lots to eat. Very inexpensive. All the street food you want to try is there. Fruit there is inexpensive compared to grocery stores, you have to have the strawberries, its on another level. Must try the chicken and korean doughnuts. Don't skip the stands leading to the market. Also World Cup market is right next to it as well.
