Neighbourhood: Myeongdong
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.

Probably fun if you like slapstick.
I was honestly very bored. The acts didn't catch me at all, waist of time and money.
They actors were charming, but their talent not well organised, even though it was without language there was a few cultural references, which my cousin had to explain.
I really wanted to like it, but I couldn't wait for it to end.

Was a bit apprehensive towards the show but it disappeared as the show started. The show utilises a simple non verbal comic format to connect to all nationalities. A comic show based on cooking with 5 characters is a good 1.5 hrs of fun and relaxation.

We were advised to visit this show. It turned out to be a percussion show. Al together it was not too bad, but they used the same riff over and over again and to me (musician) it all sounded very simple and uninteresting. Having seen other percussion acts that demonstrated much more creativity, and way more synchronicity (key for percussion), all that was left was an unsatisfying feel.

It is not easy to categorize the Nanta theater show. It is a musical, comedy, acrobat and action performance all rolled into one 90 minute non stop rhythmic show, which even includes audience participation. The synopsis of the show goes like this: 4 chefs are entrusted by their boss to prepare for a wedding banquet. what follows is a comedic preparation of the menu using kitchen tools as musical instruments to create a drum-like beat that goes on and on until the wedding ceremony is done. A lot of fresh vegetables is used in this show.
We watched at the Myeondong area in downtown Seoul. The theater is located in a UNESCO building. It might be best to have a reservation specially during weekends.
I could watch this show again and have fun all over again.

Since there isnt much things to do in Jeju at night, we decided to watch NANTA show in Jeju instead of watching in Seoul.
1. Money saving tips - The website only offers 10% disc on the $60k tickets and not easy to book the seats you wanted. I get the hotel's staff to help me navigate the web and he managed to get to the travel agent site that offers 25% disc, that means 13 of us only pay $45k to watch, a good $15k saving per person. The catch is the person who booked for you must prepay the tickets by transferring the money to the agent's bank account and collection is at their travel agent counter in Jeju airport, gate 3. It is worth the travelling as airport is only 15mins to the show venue.
2. The ticketing counter only open at 7pm, so you need not go there any earlier. We have the seats already prebooked. The VIPs seats were at 60k won (center seat) while the next category is at 50k won, the left and right block of the theatre.
3. You can have your dinner opposite the theatre, known as noodles street. Great pork noodles at only 5k won with complimentary coffee from coffee machine.

I saw all the great reviews here on TripAdvisor, so I made apoint to go see this show. I hated it. I couldn't wait for it to end. The slapstick humor was terrible, and the show was way too long, and kept going and going. Maybe if they would have taken the best 1/3 of the show and cut out the rest, it would have been decent. But an hour and a half of this was just too much. It was also way too expensive for what it is. I cruise a lot, and the free shows on the cruises are usually better than this. I rarely review anything on here, but I had to come on and write a review for this so people aren't misled like I was.

The reviews for this show are completely misleading. After spending 16 months in Korea we went to see this production because of the raving reviews, only to be left disappointed and 120 dollars short of cash.
There were a few brief moments that were good including a couple of knife tricks, figure breathing, and percussion. The actors were also enthusiastic.
But the lack of plot, character development, and childish humour made it a complete waste of time and money.

Found myself laughing uncontrollably a few times during the show. Nanta is extremely entertaining and very engaging. It's suitable for all ages and is highly recommended. You definitely don't need to have an understanding of the Korean language to know what's going on. Purchased the tickets from the U.S. using their ticketing website. Didn't realize why the first few rows were not available for purchase online but noticed while at the show that those seats seem to be reserved for tour groups. Sat in the 5th row and it felt very close to the stage. Don't miss this show!

Where do I get the Tickets and How much are they?
Written 4 September 2018
You can get the tickets from KLOOK or Trazy. I would recommend u get the tickets from KLOOK whereby you can apply credit card promo code which can get a further discount. Klook costs about usd23 to usd44/ticket depending on the type of seats.
