We were supposed to meet Jomin at exit number 2 of Mangwon metro station, to start off the market tour. But the subway system in Korea was a bit confusing for us, and we were late for a good ten minutes.

During the market tour, Jomin was jovial and insightful. She was unflustered when I told her the kids lost something along the way, and we may need to backtrack a little to search for it. Jomin allowed us 5-10minutes, while she carry on the market tour with the rest.

Her patience and good humour was evident throughout the session. We thoroughly enjoyed the hands on cooking class. It's not just the food. But also the good conversation we had with Jomin and the rest of the participants.

We did a private lesson over Zoom and cooked 3 items. We were east coast of America so there was quite a time difference! Jomin was very accommodating along with being very nice during the demonstration and helpful. Will definitely look her up when we make our way back to Seoul for an in person lesson. Thanks again!

It's an excellent experience with Jomin including the market visit and cooking class! She shared a lot of traditional market knowledge during the market visit! It's so great to start shopping and eating all traditional stuff before the cooking lesson. And during the cooking class, Jomin explained all in very details that even a beginner like me enjoy it very much! Keep an empty stomach to attend the lesson, all dishes are in big portion! Really thank you so much for Jomin!

Hi, Bonita, Thanks for the review. It was an excellent time to me as well with you. Hope you are happy all the time in Hong Kong, and cook Korean dishes sometimes together with Calvin at home. :) Thanks again!

Ladies and gentleman. If you want to have a fun evening. If you want hands on experience. If you wanna take a healthy Kimchi recipe back home to your country and if you want a super interesting tour over an korean market, then do not hesitate to invite friends to make some Kimchi together with Jomin.
I am leaving Korea soon and I still hope to manage another class with Jomin. Should have known and done it earlier!!

We went to Seoul in May this year as a family group and decided to join a cooking class because whilst we absolutely LOVE Korean food, none of us could actually cook any at home! We knew that we had made the right choice even before the day because Jomin was very efficient in her email replies, and was beyond helpful. On the day, she met us at the train station and took us to the market before heading back to her kitchen where the fun really began. Her place was spotless and organised, her techniques were skillful yet easy to understand, and her food (maybe OUR food) was simply delicious. Highly recommended!

Traffic was terrible getting to the class. I notified our instructor that we would be 5 minutes late. We ended up being 7 minutes late. We stood at the station waiting hoping our insturctor would show up or text. She did 20 minutes later telling us to meet at the market. Not knowing Seoul nor having a decent map on line (google maps do not work), we left the station looking for the market. We finally found it with the help of people on the street and raced around looking for a class. We got fed up and just finally stopped looking. We missed the class.
Had the instuctor told us at 10:07 that they were leaving for the market we would have had our taxi drive us there instead of the station. Frustrated. We spent time and $ getting to this class, wasted time looking for them and at the end - no class. Out taxi money to and from the class and lost a 1/2 day when we only had two days in Seoul.

Wonderful experience learning from Jomin. Loved learning about the history of kimchee and cooking the food was easy with Jomin's instructions. Best part is I now know how to make delicious kimchee pancake and kimchee fried rice.

Jomin’s class was INCREDIBLE! We had such an amazing time and learned so much. I can’t wait to make tofu from scratch back home and think of this experience! Also, I am vegan and Jomin went out of the way to prepare vegan kimchi, which was very sweet! I highly recommend this class by Jomin :)

Jomin's class was great. She met me at the subway and first we went on a tour of the nearby market, where she explained many of the items for sale, like kimchi and tofu. Then it was to her kitchen, where she patiently walked me through the process of making tofu, and other dishes. She is a former travel writer, and we shared stories about our travels around the world. She even sent me home with leftovers to enjoy the next day.

I absolutely loved this cooking class and the trip to the market beforehand was amazing. Jomin was the perfect guide around the market and totally patient in the cooking class with all my questions and slow chopping skills. The food was also fantastic and Jomin adapted the recipes to be gluten free for me!

This was a real highlight of my trip to Seoul and I'd highly recommend it to anyone interested in Korean cuisine and culture!
