The Fortress is more of the wall with ruins but it offers great views of the city on oneside and the botanical gardens on the other.

Whether you walk up here or take the cable car (definitely take a cable car in the summer), it's worth a quick trip up. Nothing mind-blowing, but certainly not a waste of time either.

Almost all of the fortress has dissapeared and nothing has remained than a couple of walls. Inside there is nothing to see but a high overview on the botanical gardens below.

The Narikala fortress can be visited by road or cable car. The view of the fortress at night from the city looks better than what you see during the day.

Astonishing view on Baku by night. We reached the fortress by feet. It is not very hard, 15 minutes walk. We went in evening when it was dark and the temperature was mild. We could appreciate a wonderful view of the city.

After the tram ride, you can start a very nice walk on top of this fortress all the way down to the fort. Very recommended
